Match Thread - May 22nd 2019 - York 9 v. A.S. Blainville

Recommended Posts

Anybody know what the tie breaker rules are for the tournament.

Are we using standard UEFA rules?

If the match ends 1-1 does Bainville advance?

I can hear fans but can't see them

Hope they put the cameras on opposite sides for Saturday.

They are clearly not done yet and I'm guessing some improvements will be aimed at Saturday's game

Yeah definitely! I’m at the stadium, pretty good turnout, but I’m sure the cameras can’t see it!

Selfishly I am so glad we lost the track events at the Pan Ams in Hamilton, it sucks having the stands so far from the field especially in smaller venues!

Fury GM JDG is in the house tonight, make what you want of that.

Prepping the Fury for the tournament no doubt.

I think Valour beats Halifax and face Ottawa next

Blainville playing very well and without Mayard..shows the high quality coaching again

He will most likely get considerations for Laval or Quebec City club

Can you give us your best estimate?

Just so we can make fun of you later when it is way off, you understand.

Also, what if it had ended 0-0 (not possible now though). From the commentary it sounded as though we would have gone srtaight to pens -- no extra time. Does anybody know if that is correct?

Frankly, Blainville have looked like the better side in the second half. I would not be surprised to see them advance.

Let us not forget that these are the D3 champions, so with pro/rel they would have been promoted. Thus they really should be very close to CPL level.

Oh thanks... ha ha

I really don’t know, but I’d guess 2500 or so. Anyways, it felt like a good crowd for a windy / rainy Wednesday night.

Lefevre was balling out in center midfield with stepovers and long distance shots on target. Sad to see him and Blainville get knocked out.
