Hainault plays for 1. FCK vs Unterhaching.

Reading this thread makes me think a bunch of these players would be wise to come back home and play in the CPL if the wages work out, I think we will see that in the near future as the league establishes itself!

Im not sure about that. German third division provides a lot more opportunities to move up to higher euro leagues and higher wages than moving to the CPL.

As I said, in the future! Maybe I am being overly optimistic in thinking the league will grow in quality quickly, if it does wages should go up and I would think stand out players will be noticed by bigger clubs in other leagues, some of the players toiling in lower divisions may just want to come home and play in Canada!

I'm not sure moving back to Canada from 3rd tier German would be considered wise for a large %, but there will always be cases where a move back home is indeed the wise choice which is what the CPL is all about. I think what we'll see in the future is young Canadians more reluctant to make the jump to lower tier Europe when we have a good competitive league here at home

*side note : good to see Elva finding some success in Germany

Kris Twardek starts on the bench for Sligo against league leaders Shamrock Rovers.

He came on in the 24th minute in a 2-1 upset win, had a good outing but didn't contribute to either goal as far as I'm aware, although he was on the pitch for both.

Hoilett starts on the bench for Cardiff against Crystal Palace

Came on for the last 10 minutes and missed a really good opportunity to score.  Looks like they will be officially relegated if the result stays.

We’re far deeper now than 5 years ago.   A player getting a couple cameo’s in MLS isn’t going to get on the Gold Cup 40 man roster anymore.

It does when it comes to Center Backs though. It literarily happened with Kamal Miller...

Both Kamal Miller & Cornelius have started 3 games and will likely get a few more starts before the Gold Cup.  I can't imagine Montgomery making it over those 2 and frankly those two are borderline right now.  I expect Cornelius based on the fact he has featured in most Canada squads under Herdman,
