My understanding is that that forum auto generates threads when an article is posted from an affiliate. I'm not sure about a policy regarding posting outside links tbh. Yes, but you need to ask me to set your account up for that. I don't know the difference between someone posting a link and the original author. ironcub14
Finally had a chance to rewatch the game in full. I know it's 4 days late but I post this just to highlight a couple of players and points that I don't think I saw much upthread. I thought Justin Springer had an excellent game defensively, and was a big reason why Y9's defense held up. Gasparotto came up big in the late stages with some huge clearances, and Ingham crazy good saves obviously, but Springer was rock steady all 90 long. Checked the stats on the CanPL website just now, and the clearance numbers definitely add up for the two. Gogarty and Porter and Di Chiara all had good games defensively as well, and the front two's pressing was incredible 1st half, although this likely tired them out for the 2nd half. Also thought Murofushi was really neat and tidy with the ball, rarely lost it, always tried to do something positive, very pleased with his ball control and passing. I think if anything Brennan's tactical inflexibility was the main weakness for Y9 this game. A 5-3-2/3-5-2 all game long, when the front 2 were clearly isolated all 2nd half. I'd have liked to see us switch to a 5-4-1/3-4-3 when Ricci came on, as we could have countered thru the wings with Rollocks at LW and Ricci at RW when holding onto that 1 goal lead away. Countering through the middle with 2 strikers when the mids were too pressed back defneding simply led to just giving the ball right back to Hamilton time after time. Good analysis I’m sure if Carmen Isaaco had more say in the coaching decisions the tactics by York 9 would have been a bit better, however when you have Brennan as your coach that’s what you are going to get unfortunately. The guy is clueless, this York 9 team has a lot of potential but unfortunately you have the wrong coach calling the shots Brennan is the weakest link unfortunately.
