Romeo started again for HB Koge in the Danish 1st Division. Another full 90 and a win as wel (1-0 over the league-leaders Viborg).

I am pleasantly surprised with the starts he is receiving as he did not perform well for the U20s in Concacaf qualifiers. Just goes to show that it is difficult to project the ceiling for young prospects.

He also wasn't great shakes with the U17s, so I will remain skeptical.

David left the game at 68".

Gent lost 2-1! Kinda flat performance from them. Looks like the season is lasting a bit too long for tem. David had 2 chances, both were hard (and one created solely by himself).

AFC Cup - Group Stage - May 1

Jordan Webb started and played 90 minutes for Tampines Rovers (Singapore) in a 4-3 win over Yangon United.  They will need at least a draw in their final match away to Ha Noi on May 15th to advance to the next round.

This is a rather pathetic loss. First, Mechelen are basically a suspended club, they are 2nd tier, won the right to promotion 6 weeks ago, but can't--because they were caught in a match-fixing scandal over a year ago and the decision came down recently.

So they are a team condemned to not go to top flight, and winning the cup does not in fact give them the right to go to Europe, which it would normally do: Mechelen is prohibited from being a Belgian rep in a UEFA competition, by the Belgian FA.

This was their first game in 6 weeks, to boot: to lose to this gang  is rather disgraceful.

So does that mean Gent take that Europa spot?

No, it goes to the highest placed league finisher who was not already in a Europa spot. So likely still no European football for Gent next season.
