Thinking of heading down for the first game at the Rose Bowl! Would the Voyageurs arrange a supporter section at the games, or would we have to buy individual tickets?

We won't be enough for a proper section. This thread will allow everyone who goes to coordinate to buy tickets in the same section.

I am thinking of maybe doing the 3rd game in North Carolina.

It's the St-Jean long weekend; anybody who works Monday-Friday in Québec can fly down Saturday and back on Monday and not use their vacation.

I am thinking of maybe trying to fly down on Saturday and back on Tuesday.

I didn't see this thread.

I will arrange sections for people at these games.

A proper section at a Mexico game is really important, it needs to be coordinated with security.

DO NOT go buying tickets until I have talked to Canada Soccer.

My wife and I live in SoCal and would be interested in going to the opener at the Rose Bowl on June 15th.  Please keep us posted on supporters tickets and/or stadium section where the bulk of the Canadian support will be sitting.

For once, choices are having to be made which games to go to cause there are now more than I can remember.  Tack in the must of going to at least one CPL game, the women’s send off friendly, the Voyageurs Cup and watching the local USL/PDL team, Canadian soccer supporters now have more options than ever.  That’s not a bad thing!

I am thinking of maybe going to the second game in Denver vs Mexico, won't know until Mid early May; I'd say 50/50 chance, really hope it's worth it should I go. It's a risk I'm willing to take, I believe Canada are capable of getting taking points from El Tri'

Anyone else considering this game as well? There's direct flights from Vancouver

@admin Is it really that bad? I mean for example let's say I am the only person at the stadium wearing red and the rest is green, do we really need security to protect us, yikes! No offence to Concacaf, but the perception that if you're in the rare minority of the crowd means "oh this is someone who is trying to cause trouble" that's pretty sad tbh. Plus this in the US! If it were in Central America or Mexico I totally understand, technically speaking both sets of fans have the same right to purchase tickets and support whoever they want. It's a neutral venue isn't it? I'm gonna proudly support Canada and wear the jersey (have to buy one), it would be a pretty upsetting to not wear it cause that's my country and I ain't no neutral fan. For the WC I went as a neutral and didnt wear anything but that's different.

Now, thank you for talking to Canada soccer to arrange sections for fans so that fans alike can all be In the same spot, i think that  new approach is great! And yes, Mexico is the team with the biggest and most passionate fanbase in our region, clearly a different beast than let's say Martinique or Cuba 100%. Appreciate the security aspect of it

The overwhelming majority of the time, no.

Also, I am not suggesting you need to be surrounded by security.   Mostly arranging things with security/stadium. For example, if there were a Cuba supporters section, we shouldn't be next to it.  I don't know where that might be.

That said, if we had won that game in Mexico, even tied it, we would have needed the police in riot gear that surrounded us (well not us, the Ambassador)

Individually people would be fine.  As a group it gets more complicated and more so with beer.

This isn't meant to paint some negative picture of our region or be overly dramatic.

Why would anyone want to do that?!

/s ?

I finally picked up my season ticket last night with the USL branded scarf.  I think I will wear it to every CPL game I go to this season to incite the locals.  Ha ha!

Don't worry.

The Gold Cup is not the same as the Azteca in Mexico City or the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.

Those are the cases where there are certain sections you just CANNOT be in (especially if Canada wins).

For the Gold Cup it's more of a slight precaution.

It's also mainly because it's far more fun when there is a group of Canadians together instead of spread out across the whole stadium.
