El Hombre
This line from near the start sums it up pretty good: "A couple of the sources disagreed with his characterization — they said Saputo, who was not made available for this story, regularly shows himself to the players in both good times and bad — but they all agreed that the owner is passionate to a fault, a proud man who desperately wants his club to succeed, but one who has repeatedly let his emotions get in the way of building a consistent winner in Montreal." Chad_Impact
Looks like Wilmer Cabrera won't be back. I have to say, I've grown to like him quite a bit and seems the players and media have too. Hope he does well in his next job.
Moldy9
Anyone else not surprised by Nacho’s reaction on skipping the post mortem? Instead of telling the media and fans after the Cdn Championship he wants to stay but it’s up to the club he should’ve just said what he’s been saying all along: that he wants to go home. Will be interesting how this will turn out. If I were in the front office’s shoes I’d pick up the option and sell him in the summer window. Maybe that was their plan this year but never panned out with his ongoing injuries.
Gian-Luca
Time for a new thread I guess as this is more about the 2020 season, but I'll post this here for now: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/10/24/montreal-impact-will-not-retain-head-coach-wilmer-cabrera-2020-season

Moldy9
At least he has some experience in the MLS. Now he will have to get a system down before the start of Champions League.  Edited November 14, 2019 by Moldy9

MLS is more and more becoming a league where teams with high paid offensive players do better than the other teams.
dyslexic nam
 No idea if he will succeed, but if the Impact are going to roll the dice with someone a French footy legend with some managerial experience and a lot of star power seems like the best kind of bet you could make.  If he does well, it will help raise the profile of the team and possibly the league.  Ruud and Chad_Impact
Ruud
Can we all agree that we didn't see this coming? Patrice and Thierry together as coaches for Impact? Terrific stuff Almost ANY other coach would have been subject to a ton of debate, criticism, consternation and more. Was this the only choice that will be almost unanimously approved? Even those who are skeptical? Gilmore/Saputo - don't fuck this up. I heard that Whitecaps tweeted asking if Henry coaches on turf, harkening to his days of skipping games at certain parks?    Moldy9

narduch
Seems like a loop hole to get a player on the list that won't be picked. TFC has Benezet on their list, he is also on loan. Ruffian and toontownman
