Soccer Podcast Sets Record As It Reaches Tens Of People

Denver, CO - Rapids podcast Burgundy Blues reportedly set a new milestone for downloads as they admitted to reaching tens of people for their weekly rants and diatribes about the boys in burgundy playing north east of Denver.

"Welcome to the most popular Rapids podcast on the internet! A quick shout out to our regular listeners in the Denver area..... Jeff, Larry, Larry's cousin Ralph, Dave, my wife Carla, Steve, Billy, Greg, Hector, and Jim."

With Major League Soccer in an upswing, or something, Johnson felt that persistence was the key to finally getting to 11 or 12 listeners.

"We worked very hard at this. Our twitter account has nearly 700 followers, so we are delighted on the return at our time investment over the past 5 years."

This 4 part podcast series came out during the World Cup which likely meant it may have been missed.

But it's relatively timeless as the first 3 episodes looks at Canadian football history from 1885. For seasoned followers, it brings memories and a couple of new nuggets. For me, I didn't know Colin Miller was left off the 86 World Cup team because Waiters only took 18 players.

For those born in the 90s or later, it should bring more perspective.

First episode of Rise Higher podcast. While supporters of the women's team have clamoured for equal coverage, this I believe is the first podcast created by women covering the women's national team.

Format is similar to Northern Futbol where 3 (Moly Smith, Megan Christopher & Laura Bryan) provide their views of latest national team matches and then answer twitter questions.

NextPod is for those who want a look at prospects in MLSNP, CPL, USL & NCAA.

5 episodes in, they did go off topic at times to look at the Canadian national teams. Hosts are Duane Rollins and James Grossi.

And for the record, OneSoccer's OneNation is available as a podcast.

Tried to clean up the original list and added a few.

I have sure seen alot of Canadian soccer podcasts come and go. Some so brief I wonder why they even bothered in the first place.

So I believe the only podcasts that have lasted since  2015 are AFTN, KAN FC and Vocal Minority. They have toughed it out from thick and thin and have over 400 episodes.

For a brief period all the CPL teams had their own team specific fan podcasts and a couple league wide podcasts. Unfortunately most disappeared.

The only advice I can give for anyone considering making a podcast is think of an original name. You can easily get lost in the sea of podcasts especially if you have a name similar to others. Make sure it can be found on apple podcasts (most popular app for podcasts) or at least Spotify (second most popular podcast app). Third and fourth are web browser and Google podcasts. I personally use Pocket Casts which I believe picks up anything that is on apple podcasts app.

After a rush of new podcasts pre Qatar, many have dropped off. But a new one is Healey & Bailey Notebook.

Josh Healey is behind the quite good Wanderers Notebook.

https://wanderersnotebook.ca/

They're 2 shows in. First show was on Canada's loss to Jamaica and CPL transfer news. Show 2 link is below.

Is Northern Futbol dead?

Their last episode was December 7

Alot of soccer podcasts that follow Canadian soccer take a break in December and January. You see in this country for some reason they stop playing soccer during this time of year...

Answering my own question, Galindo got a job at TFC. I'm guessing the podcast is dead.

Should be. Podcast turned to shit ever since it wasn't just Nef and Galindo.

AGR reminds me of someone who just took an interest to the sport and is just an intellect who can interpret stats well but doesn't really knnnnooww the game. Same way I feel about JJD - opportunist.
