It’s a tired team too, so I don’t think it’s fully indicative on Signh’s pace, there’s also the experience factor. But MTL will take that matchup everyday if it’s there. These guys can never be paired with each other or else we will see a lot of forwards in MLS have fun with TFC defence.
Lansdude
He went the full 90 in heat and was on an emotional high less than 72 hours before today's match, again in heat. And it's the start of the season. I don't think we should read anything into his (or Okello or whoever's) speed/workrate/focus at this point. Give him a week to regroup and we see a better player most likely. toontownman, Kadenge, johnyb and 1 other
toontownman
He is likely absolutely knackered did seem like he wasnt going all out to catch quioto and gave up a teensy bit. Overall an up and down performance. Was some nice stuff as well as naive. Dominic94, johnyb and Club Linesman
Bison44
I was screaming at the tv, NO RED NO RED HE CANT SCORE FROM THERE!!!! Oh well, he isnt the first CB to lose a footrace with Quioto, I thought he had done just enough to force him wide and I was happy not to see him jump in and (like a young defender is apt to do) give up a penalty. Other than that, he didnt look much worse than Gonzalez. Still nice to see him get a HG contract. toontownman

Quioto would have done the same to Sergio Ramos and Thiago Silva....it's just that those two would have realized the speed they were dealing with and put a sliding challenge in to clear the danger right away before it escalated any further. That's literally all Luke had to do here, he had a two second window to put a foot in but failed to do it. I am sorry but i got a kick out of this line. “Needing to work on his work rate”? 😁 There are alot things (ie.: skills, attributes, behaviors, experiences) that people can develop or need to develop with time as professions in any walk of life. But work ethic is not one of them. You either have it or dont. Given that this is being attributed to a kid that has just been promoted and needs to prove himself, this has to be a major red flag. An Observer
I actually didn’t think he was as bad as others think on Quito’s goal. I think he thought he steered him outside enough and slowed up as was likely concerned Quito would cut back inside if he overplayed him and then would be in a much better position to score. I personally think that Bono could have done better from that angle but it was a bullet from Quito. Credit to Quito but some keepers would have saved that. That being said, some of Singh’s other play was where I found him more lacking. Free kick and costarg
