Is Quioto known for his speed?

Sarcasm or I take it you've made a deliberate choice to forget this?

You could even say his speed knocked us out of WCQ.

BTW, the assist on that Quioto goal was provided by another speedy Honduran player, Alberth Elis who played for Houston for several years:

needs to work on his work rate. caught being lazy a few times.

and any partner of Gonzalez has to know he has to cover for Gonzalez's no pace

Yea but the way he got burnt by Quito....I was like damn. These guys can never be paired with each other or else we will see a lot of forwards in MLS have fun with TFC defence.

He went the full 90 in heat and was on an emotional high less than 72 hours before today's match, again in heat. And it's the start of the season. I don't think we should read anything into his (or Okello or whoever's) speed/workrate/focus at this point. Give him a week to regroup and we see a better player most likely.

I was screaming at the tv, NO RED NO RED HE CANT SCORE FROM THERE!!!!  Oh well, he isnt the first CB to lose a footrace with Quioto, I thought he had done just enough to force him wide and I was happy not to see him jump in and (like a young defender is apt to do) give up a penalty.  Other than that, he didnt look much worse than Gonzalez.  Still nice to see him get a HG contract.

It’s a tired team too, so I don’t think it’s fully indicative on Singh’s pace, there’s also the experience factor. But MTL will take that matchup everyday if it’s there.

I get that Quito has the speed on him, but frustrating that he seemed to just totally give up at the end. Gonzalez didn't exactly help much though...

Singh got roasted.

It was just naivety at its finest. Singh's pace is fine. Quioto would have done the same to Sergio Ramos and Thiago Silva....it's just that those two would have realized the speed they were dealing with and put a sliding challenge in to clear the danger right away before it escalated any further. That's literally all Luke had to do here, he had a two second window to put a foot in but failed to do it.

Singh would've got away with it vs USL and CPL attackers, this is a different league, faster, tougher, better, he'll learn.

I am sorry but i got a kick out of this line.  “Needing to work on his work rate”?  😁  There are alot things (ie.:  skills, attributes, behaviors, experiences) that people can develop or need to develop with time as professions in any walk of life.   But work ethic is not one of them.  You either have it or dont.    Given that this is being attributed to a kid that has just been promoted and needs to prove himself,  this has to be a major red flag.

Work rate is basically the sum of every conscious decision we make. Players have more control over that than any of the other attributes you listed

I actually didn’t think he was as bad as others think on Quito’s goal. I think he thought he steered him outside enough and slowed up as was likely concerned Quito would cut back inside if he overplayed him and then would be in a much better position to score.  I personally think that Bono could have done better from that angle but it was a bullet from Quito.  Credit to Quito but some keepers would have saved that.

That being said, some of Singh’s other play was where I found him more lacking.
