section114row20
Drafted 7th overall by Minnesota United in the Superdraft. https://www.twincities.com/2019/01/11/minnesota-united-picked-goalkeeper-dayne-st-clair/ johnyb
section114row20
If he ends up 3rd on the MNUFC depth chart, maybe a loan to either their USL club or Valour FC would make sense to get him some playing time close to MNUFC coaching. shamrock
Yeah MU now has 2 goalkeepers, Shuttleworth and St Clair. I think he's in a good spot if they plan t develop him behind Schuttleworth this season, maybe getting a few starts and then in the second year take over the no1 spot. Sort of the Blake scenario. toontownman
toontownman
Kids got style. Personality and confidence to boot which will serve him well. Hopefully he continues to improve. Could be an important part of our future if he continues to grow and gets minutes.

Agreed. Never seen St. Claire play but Shuttleworth is a very average MLS GK IMO. Was kind of hoping he would land with the Rapids to train with Tim Howard for a year or 2 but they're such a tire fire he probably dodged a bullet. Keegan
Looks like a solid bet to be a Canada keeper in the future - I could see him getting into some games this season for Minnesota. Also
Bison44
St Clair got 45 minutes of preseason action against phoenix rising yesterday. Pretty low key (it was streamed live on youtube) but he kept a clean sheet. Funny how the Loons/ST Clair can handle a USL squad and TFC give up 5 against Vegas. Kent
Does anybody else think of the Barenaked Ladies song "Jane" when they read Dayne's name? If he ever makes it to the CMNT there's got to be a chant to that tune. "The girl works at the store, sweet Jane St. Clair" could become something like "The man works in the net, sweet Dayne St. Clair" I'm not good at this stuff though, so I'm just going to stop there. toontownman
toontownman
Ha I like it. Also made me think of this.. "Our keeper Dayne"
SthMelbRed
If we're really looking for a chant based on the Dayne/Jane rhyme, surely it's gotta be with Lou Reed's Sweet Jane, but with the Cowboy Junkies cover version's pace. gator, toontownman and Gian-Luca
dyslexic nam
Guy gets 45 minutes of preseason and we are making up chants to sing to him. I love this place. SthMelbRed, Keegan, apbsmith and 3 others 2 1
Stryker911
Still only 2 keepers on Minnesota's roster so good chance he at least makes the bench to start the season. johnyb

Bison44
Madison FC in USL L1. Unfortunately they have already got Brain Sylvestre (former VAN residency) who has some MLS experience (union) and was with LA (although he didnt get any games) last year. Lot of games with USL north carolina in between. masster
Jith12
He started today against a university team and kept a clean sheet. He also made this beauty of a penalty save: Ruffian, toontownman, maccaliam and 2 others

Stryker911
Looks like he played the entire game and got a shutout against NYCFC last night. He was the only player not to be subbed at half time. Pleasantly surprised to see how much they have played him Ruffian, Greatest Cockney Rip Off, jordan and 1 other
BenFisk'sBiggestFan
Shuttleworth has always been a sub-par MLS keeper. So I was thrilled when i heard he went to Minnesota. It’s probably the easiest place in the league to win the starting job. It is awesome to see him earning it. I really hope he can get some serious time this year. So St Clair is battling for the backup spot. Obviously the good news is that as a high pick and young player the team has more interest in developing him. Yeah no one is going to start a rookie goalkeeper right out of the gate. He'll get a couple of games in this season and has a fighting chance next season. lazlo_80
This guY is getting a lot of press coverage in Minnesota. Unfortunately it’s all behind a paywall so I can’t reead any of it.
