I can already see it. You are going to have an absolute meltdown about the team we end up calling in.

I’m sorry to say it but our team is going to look nothing like that and you should prepare yourself for that.

Your right the team will probably look alittle different. But even with CNL we will probably lose 1-3 players. Millar and Ballou didn’t even sub in last senior game. Fraser and Okello are really below the depth charts. At right back we will get either ZBG or Godinho both are good players. I can see us losing Davies and David. But really that should be it if the  qualifiers during the FIFA window. Now  if The qualifier it’s not during the window, the roster will be very interesting.

Davies, David, Millar, tabla and probably godinho will be at cnl games. Could see Cornelius going as we have James and Henry already, Kennedy might also go as he’s a 97 but wouldn’t count on it. For Gk it could possibly be busti, but I don’t think he’s been playing. I expect a few CPL guys from the teams not challenging for the championship as their season will almost be over.

Excellent list, really well detailed. Now the thing is historically there has always been 2/3 players from Europe and the rest of the team all North American Based. Clubs are not forced to release their players in which most don't. Since the Olympic qualifying tournament does not fall under FIFA Break. We should expect the roster to come out of the 3 CDN MLS teams, the 7 CPL teams, Ottawa Fury, and a few others springled in on American USL Championship and USL League one.

More than 50 players at our disposal to select from, much more than compared to 2015

Camp set for April 30th in Vancouver, bad time of the year for a camp, Europe based players will not be released, and CPL just started

Lol wtf.

Makes no sense based on everything you stated. Why not June?

23 players and from April 30 to May 9th

Why would CPL clubs release their U23 (97') eligible players? There's games all in between there all around. The 3 CDN MLS clubs really don't have a problem since they'll be well represented always. And they get very little playing time, The rest on American MLS, USL Championship and League One I doubt it. You can forget about any European based players too. This will be an uninspiring roster most likely.

camp has been postponed,

Over the last 24 hours we have been informed of a number of player injuries and availability issues that has now impacted our ability to effectively deliver the camp at the expected standards due to roster size.  As a result we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the project to a later date to ensure that we can deliver on the objectives.

They should have this u23 camp in September when the International break takes place! (Sept 2-10) One month before the tournament, pretty damn good

I fully expect that the team will be just North American players, maybe a few Europeans if the CSA asks for release to a couple and the answer is yes.

CPL heavy, USL1, USLC, and MLS

The CPL is going to be the biggest blessing for this team. Obviously many of the top guys will not be going to this event, but there are going to be many quality options, who are match fit for this event from the CPL.

Two games in and these are the eligible players who have played...

Pacific FC

Chung- 90 mins

Baldisimo- 72 mins

Campbell- 74 mins

N. Verhoeven- 90 mins

Hernandez- 18 mins

Halifax

Langwa- 90 mins

N'Sa- 90 mins

Skublak- 60 mins

Forge FC

Borges- 90 mins

Zajac- 13 mins

York 9 FC

Rollocks- 90 mins

Abzi- 3 mins

Beyond this... Forge, York, and Pacific all have three more eligible players not listed. Halifax has four more. Cavalry and Edmonton both have a couple players who could play their way into consideration. Valour FC has six players that are age eligible.

The team should be made up from many of these CPL players. The calibre of the league has looked solid, better then anticipated through two games. It makes much more sense to take players regularly playing in the CPL, versus guys playing in Cyprus division 2, NCAA, or sitting on an MLS bench all year. It would also help with chemistry. For example, Chung, Baldisimo, N. Verhoven all look like they will be important pieces for Pacific. Take those three and you have ready made chemistry after little preparation.

What happens if the Olympics are rightly postponed for a year, are we still out after this decision or can we get back on board? I completely agree with the decision regardless of the answer to my question!

I'd assume that it wouldn't impact us, given that in the same release, COC called for a postponement. The statement said they aren't sending athletes to the game "in the summer of 2020". As we all know there won't be game then, it shouldn't be an issue.

Besides, Australia has said the same thing, and they've already qualified for the men's soccer. So presumably they won't be unqualified.
