Funny because the Davies goal was reminiscent of goals Ronaldo Nazario de Lima scored, at his peak, including the sharp cut back.

Was thinking of this goal, which just celebrated it's 25th anniversary a few days ago. Especially for the final cutback.

I clearly remember I was just pulling up to my apartment in the car on a rainy day and only heard it on the radio.

It still irks me that Ronaldo now usually refers to Cristiano Ronaldo, taking away fame from Ronaldo Nazario de Lima.  The older Ronaldo still deserves to be recognized as one of the great strikers, even if Cristiano has surpassed him.  Instead, he has become almost nameless and forgotten.  Bah!

Oh he's still mentioned regularly in most soccer circles. It's  just that he gets called  "fat Ronaldo" more often than not nowadays. bVQj5gX.thumb.jpg.a37375ac91a7fcf6135c6cbedf258ddf.jpg

Sheesh! Methinks somebody is still eating the same diet he ate back when he was burning 6,000 calories a day.

There has been some concern with team balance if both Davies and Tajon start together at wingback. They both are better attackers than defenders so it does make us suspect defensively at times especially defending the wings but Tajon is the only player on our squad that sparks as much fear among our opponents as does Davies. If both are playing as wingers that would actually result in perfect balance.

You really want to being playing them both where you can really take advantage of their speed. These guys are good.

Named one of the 3 finalists for MLS Young Player of the Year:

I think he has a great chance at winning it, especially given how good his team was and he was a major contributor to their success.

His growth has been amazing since he joined the league and it's been exciting to watch. I see big things in the future for Tajon (hopefully tonight included!)

In Pikachu-gif worthy shocking news, Tajon won the player/club vote but Pepi took the media vote by a landslide and won the award.
