Pacific FC Launch / 2019 off season thread

Recommended Posts

Great pub night on Friday at the Irish Times. Josh and Rob had great things to tell us about how the club is coming together.

For those who could not make it here are some highlights that I feel it is OK to share:

  • Jersey design finalized, described as "best in league", no more hints
  • Order placed with manufacturer, expected arrival date: February
  • Yes, there will be XXXL Jerseys for purchase for us
  • Other merchandise will be available soon in the new storefront downtown on Fort St (near Douglas)
  • Updated stadium renders show fantastic stands, Rob asked for "our" stand to be nice and steep
  • Modular stadium components being manufactured in Italy, estimate 6 weeks to assemble when delivered on site
  • Events planned up and down the Island in the coming months with a great interactive component

There was no PR flack, we were talking directly to Josh and Rob and if you can come down to one of these (they will be at different paces each month I understand) it will be well worth your time.

The colour scheme for Pacific is so unique that with a creative company there could be some cool jerseys.  I think Macron could pull it off.

Have to say I have 4 shirts, Calvary, Wanderers, Forge and Pacific, and for me by far the nicest is Forge, the grey one with the hammer and orange details. It is also very comfortable.

But...the only shirt getting reactions is the Pacific, with that logo. People have asked what it meant, I perhaps have mentioned this. So I think there must be something there. It is obviously flawed, as the letters are invisible inside the crest, and you cannot really see a tree at all, but from that, and the colour scheme, I am sure something smart could be done.

Not sure this has been shared, but impressive! From 2015

Good footage from the rugby tourny.

Really hope the Westhills Stadium expansion is done right, with a full grandstand with roof on the other side when the pole is gone, end section seating and supporters area, and a few center sections of premium REAL seats instead of the aluminum bleachers on each side as well.

It can be one of the better small stadiums in the country if they go the extra mile instead of half assing it.

I haven't heard anything from Pacific FC as well. I only heard about the event through twitter and then it was too late for me to even contemplate going.

Ditto the lack of emails. Saw the event on Twitter too, but had a conflict for the Friday. Mentioned this earlier in the thread--they need to put out tidbits at least across all digital platforms, including emails to those who have put down money for deposits. You need to make them feel in the loop. Not everyone is an instagram user or a regular FB user, but every potential season ticket holder has given an email address. To not cultivate that relationship is taking your core market for granted.

Glad to hear the good news out of the pub meeting, though-- thanks for the update, Ted.

I haven’t received any emails since my confirmation as a club member. I requested emails as well.

Not sure what happened, but I have been assured by the new Community Engagement Coordinator that invitations will be emailed as well as sent on social media.

Pacific FC are aware of the problem and I was assured by the EVP, Sales and Business Development that their email communications platform is still being set up but will be functioning shortly. Also, it was mentioned that an email newsletter will be sent out hopefully by next week.

Still haven't received any emails. Any news on the next pub night or if they will be doing anything around the open trials?

There is an event on October 20 in Nanaimo on the Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/events/1616788398622707/

It includes, "a meet-and-great at Nanaimo's Lighthouse Bistro & Pub from 5:00pm-7:00pm."

No idea why nothing has gone out via email yet.

Great...... I will be in Nanaimo on Oct 18th. I could have planned to be in Nanaimo on the 20th...too late now.

Facebook doesn't work for me...I don't care what someone is eating in a restaurant or if they are having a relaxing Sunday. " Facebook is the tool of the Devil!! <Grampa Simpson's voice>

Agreed, Facebook is a trash platform. Total brain poison. It's just so ingrained in social interaction that you're basically a pariah if you don't have an account.

Yay! I finally got an email from the club!

Looks like a bulk email about the Nanaimo event tomorrow. LOL

OK, maybe next time they could send it out more than the day before, but at least it's start. ;)

Starts out:

Dear Pacific FC Supporter,

Thank you for your support—and patience—as we organize and position ourselves for success ahead of the 2019 Canadian Premier League season. We have been working hard with the league to sort out some technical issues within our mailing systems, after which we will be providing frequent updates on the exciting developments and progress we have been making behind-the-scenes.
