I'm over complaining about the format. We lost to Haiti. We lost to the Americans. We deserve where we're at.

Sorry, but if “deserve” is actually a factor here then El Salvador doesn’t deserve to get into the Hex based on beating a bunch of powder puff teams.

This format doesn’t reward teams who deserve to be there. The only way to determine which teams deserve to be in the Hex is to let them play for the right to do so.

They do. The coach and the FA have said so.

Oh really. As appossed to what else would they say? Yah we're trying to loose

I think a more realistic way my suggestion would play out would they accept an offer for a lot of money to play a friendly

I'd be interested to know far into the 7-35 qualification process teams will be seeded for draws. Of course, because it's CONCACAF, I'm sure they won't decide that until each stage of the process unfolds.  😉

Since there are 8 groups, I would assume that the 8 highest ranked teams as of the June 2020 rankings (teams 7-14), will each get their own group. That makes sense. Once the group stage is over and we have 8 group winners, I wonder if they'll rank the 8 countries into a top 4 pot and a bottom 4 pot and draw the quarter-final matchups that way, or if it will be a free for all where you could get any matchup with the remaining 8 countries. I guess it depends how long they want to protect the top 4 for (say that's us, Curacao, Panama, and Haiti just as an example), or do they want to open up the possibility that a top 4 team could play another top 4 team as soon as the knockout stage begins.

Even with what your proposing. So what about the 8th place team? That's not fare. I'm not really one for complaining. Complaing is an endless looser mentality. All we had to do was tie the US and we conceded a goal in 1 minute.  We need to suck it up and deal with reality

I know it's useless to complain the format now.

But, I never think we deserve this.

1. If my memory serve me right, this is the first time in WCQ history using FIFA ranking solely to decide who could enter the final qualifying round of a continent. It beyond the limit of fair play because it elimited the right of other 29 nations to have the equal opportunity getting into the HEX. The ranking should only be used for seeding.

2. Too late: almost one year after 2018 world cup final. With so many non-FIFA numbers in Concacaf, it's not fair for those teams who had to play them and got no points.

3. Everybody knows how close the teams are except Mexico and USA. If teams ranked #3 to #10 were not given a dog fight chance fairly, I am wordless about this rank #6 knife.

4. This format encourages the manipulating of friendlies in this fishy Concacaf.

ps:  As I mentioned in my propose, as long as the 8th place team could catch up 5th place team in a single head to head game, they should be given a chance to challenge.

Haiti fights Costa Rica to a draw. Haiti is too far back in terms of points for this to matter. Costa Rica's FIFA ranking won't drop that much.

Honduras beats Trinidad & Tobago as expected. Honduras can't fall out of the top 6 in terms of FIFA ranking points now.

It really comes down to El Salvador vs the Dominican Republic &/or the USA somehow being absurdly bad against Cuba.

Another assume:

If Panama was as rich as Qatar, I won't blame them to get Anguilla play with them weekly to crank the damn points all the way up.

If there were five more  nations were as rich as Qatar, I would love to see them doing the same way to let Mexico and USA crying in damn 7-35 hell.

All these "game the system" suggestions are fair game IMO.  I know they will likely never materialize either due to a lack of will or a lack of funds, but if CONCACAF establishes the rules of qualification we would be silly to pretend we shouldn't do everything legally and ethically permissible to maximize our chances of success.   If a manufactured beat-up tour of some minnows would do it, then so be it.

Jamaica and El Salvador have both earned promotion to League A for the next cycle. Tonight we'll find out if Saint Vincent or Suriname becomes the 4th team to promote to League A.

Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, and Haiti are all getting relegated down to League B. Tomorrow Bermuda will likely join them, but if they can muster up a tie against Mexico it will actually be Panama that get relegated to League B!

Confirmed in League A next tournament
USA
Canada
Mexico
Honduras
Martinique
Costa Rica
Curacao
Grenada
El Salvador
Jamaica

Can still be promoted to League A
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Suriname

Can still retain League A spot
Panama
Bermuda

I can’t believe st Vincent and the grenadines just choked on their chance to qualify for the gold cup automatically and be promoted to league A. They lost to Dominica (a team who hadn’t won a game) and now rely on a Nicaragua win to go through.

I'm not sure of the exact demographics, but I suspect that the success of Suriname ( especially if they make it to the Gold Cup) may lead to the same talent boost that Curaçao has experienced, with Dutch dual-nationals who have no chance of making the Netherlands senior team joining up. Probably a team on the rise.

Here is the El Salvador plan.

Look at the money they are putting into playing friendlies for 2020:

January 19th 2020: vs Iceland in Los Angeles

February 2020: vs the USA ( the USA's camp cupcake)

March 2020: two games in Europe

El Salvador are also trying to get Bryan Gil,who is the son of:

The kid, Bryan, has been living in El Salvador since 2006 but is not yet a citizen.

The issue in the past was the fact Suriname doesn't allow dual nationality.  Their coach was campaigning the government for years to make an exception for footballers.  The government finally granted a "sports passport" for these exceptions. A sleeping giant is about to wake up.

Wow thanks for all this. This actually gives me some hope. They could easily lose the two March window games which I'm guessing would be around 10 points. Even if they beat Iceland and US we would have a chance if we pick the right opponents.

Man if el Salvador plays 4 friendlies, we better be playing 4 friendlies.

I don't want to hear this excuse of who wants to play Canada when we having players from Bayern Munich, Gent, Rangers, Puebla, Red Star etc..... oh but the mighty el Salvdor is a more appealing proposition for friendlies? Get outta here..

-Let us see, based on tomorrow night's results, if the CSA decides to play "Camp Poutine" friendlies in January &/or February.

-During the March FIFA window, nobody born '97 or later should be playing friendlies. They should be in Mexico at Olympic Qualifying.
