Watch a player heading to the sideline chasing a ball on turf, and on grass. Watch for the mincy little steps they do because they can't plant, they can't afford to get caught in it. Once you start to notice those mincy little steps and the things they avoid, it becomes frustrating to watch. I also hate how the ball plays. Watching Sunday's match again, you see some bounces that would never happen on grass, and it appears to play quite fast (i.e. balls chipped over the top leading our pacey wingers never seem to slow down) Shway

BC Place (31% full) < BMO (34% full) Also remember when Toronto drew like 23k for a friendly against Jamaica? That's more than both Honduras and El Salvador saw for official games isn't it? I think probably the Mexico game in Vancouver and probably a certain 1985 game in St. John's. Any other examples? Can’t remember if it was a sellout but I know when Canada played Brazil in Edmonton back in 1994 they had 50 thousand plus fans at the game! I'm not sure which numbers you are referring to here as I can't really recall a disappointing turn-out at BMO for a national team game other than (ironically) the Gold Cup match which I'm sure socceronly will be able to tell you was atypically screwed up by the organizers rather than run by the CSA. Otherwsie the crowds always seem to be commensurate with the opponent/occasion. Regardless I think a Canada vs. US game will do well at BMO, Vancouver, Montreal or Edmonton or pretty much anywhere. FWIW here is video of the last time we played the US on home soil (prior to this you have to go back to 1997 for a WCQ at Swangard). The Centennial match where we continued the fine tradition of having a goal called back against the US for no legitimate reason: Edited March 28, 2019 by Gian-Luca johnyb

Winnipeg or Hamilton could be good for the USA match because they have big stadiums. Halifax for the Cuba match would be cool since I imagine the opponent would matter less in a small stadium in a market that isn't used to getting national team games. They could probably get a good turn out there. Let's find where our home field advantage is in this country! They are not that big. TH - 23K, Winterpeg 33k, With BMO at 30K, I would opt for grass and the place the players want to play. If it is a straight cash grab, play the US in Vancouver. gator and LeoH037

No the US likely wants the audience and the access Toronto provide. I do think the US would bitch about this and that the money would be in Toronto. I know people hate the USSF, but the USSF knows how to make cash and they like east coast stuff cause it makes money. If the USSF says there's better TV money in Toronto the CSA will pick Toronto Edited March 28, 2019 by matty

And the most pro-Canadian, one-sided crowd in favour of Canada that I've seen for a game against Jamaica in Toronto to boot. That was in September 2017 (I believe the last friendly we have played on Canadian soil). I do like the idea of spreading matches around though to continue to generate interest across the country rather than just 2 or 3 cities. The US tends to do this kind of thing and it helps to increase the overall fanbase. If we have some friendlies coming up (hopefully that we are hosting ourselves since we took 2018 off in that regard) and at least two other home matches, we should be doing the same here. hamiltonfan
Love this draw. Sounds like we may have a few friendlies line up prior to the Gold Cup. Lots of CMNT football ahead in 2019!!! On another note, perhaps these two matches plus a potentially friendly and/or Gold Cup match will be the start of a modern day football rivalry with the Yanks. This would be major. kacbru
I guess the one benefit of not playing many games is we haven't had these "City X is best for support vs. City Y is just a bunch of bums" debates in a long time. Bison44

Gian-Luca
The last time that I can recall a Canadian men's team at any age level beating the US in a non-friendly match (both goal scorers having just played for the full senior team on Sunday, and look at all those CPL players on the pitch): lazlo_80, johnyb, Kent and 2 others

Yoginess
Oh man I am super excited with the US draw. I cannot wait to give them a run! I can only imagine how riled up their fanbase will be if we beat them (WHERE IS YOUR PULISIC NOW?!) As for where the game should be played, I think BC place would crush it in terms of attendance but I’m happy literally anywhere this game is played.
