On the CONCACAF Nations League website, they list BMO as the host of the French Guiana game in March.  Has anyone seen the CSA mention anything? Is it possible CONCACAF is just using BMO as a place holder until something official is announced?

Luke did mention that it will be at BMO on the broadcast Tuesday night.

Who saw that one coming?  I mean, the whole reason these nations didn’t play games is because they can’t afford it.. and now you’re making them play games.  Still, if they want to complain about these matches that means they shouldnt be able to afford Caribbean cup games either.

Clearly teams that are getting smacked by 10+ goals and complaining about costs just need to bow out of the confederation. What’s the solution? Have the rest of the poor nations subsidize them OR I’m sure as always look to Canada and the USA.  But sorry, we can’t help you guys.. can’t even afford our own friendlies.

Or CONCACAF finds a way to actually make money on the Gold Cup and Nation League to help subsidize those nations.

Whatever the solution is, dumping them isn't one of them and that's a bit insensitive. The confederation was being led by corrupt people for decades. Under Montagliani, there's hope to address that as it should.

Caribbean nations should break away from Concacaf and FIFA should just create a Caribbean  confederation. Give them 1-2 World Cup spots and they can fight for those spot and they can  receive World Cup up money and they can finally grow.

Never gonna happen.  We are the 3rd largest confederation and have the weakest confederation championship aside from Oceania.  And nations that actually qualify for the tournament deserve the largest share of the spoils.. we are poor!  We can’t afford charity to nations.

I think this is the way forward.  Give them 0.25 of a spot along with Oceania = 0.5 between them.  It will suck to lose Jamaica, Haiti and Trinidad but the rest of the Caribbean is dead weight.  The problem is they would never make it on their own.

If they were to ever break away from CONCACAF and form their own confederation, they'd not deserve even a single full WC spot. They could play off against Oceania for one spot, maybe.

They'd be worst off without North and Central America

No thank you. Don’t want another Oceania. The teams can drop out if they want from the nations league. But they should be good enough to qualify through concacaf to make the world cup

Pretty sure CONCACAF is already subsidizing some of the costs for the smaller nations, but even with handouts they still can't afford it. And obviously the decision to have 1 game per window and draw this thing out wasn't too thought out costs wise for these small nations.

Why would a breakaway Caribbean confed. get a full spot, or even 2? Half at most. Maybe a full spot would be warranted when they go to 48 spots in 2026, but not now.

Copa America made crazy money. It draws.

CONCACAF needs to have the Gold Cup every 4 years and use that to qualify for it. Adding that Copa America qualification to it and make it every 4 years would help make it more relevant thus making more money. They also need to change locations a bit...

Was Copa America money trickled down?  Did we get anything for it?  I feel like that’s a unique situation.. since all South American teams qualify why would they want to share money with a guest confederations minnows?

The money was split between both Confederations. CONCACAF could dedicate it's share to help CFU Associations.

Oceana and Caribbean Need one spot at  least.  These countries need World Cup money.  I totally agree that the Caribbean countries have been corrupt as hell and they squandered all FIFA money. Caribbean teams playing in their own tournament for World Cup spot would cut down on costs.  Would make things more competitive for them.  Also some of their players may come back to their home countries to play making their team better if they know  they might have an opportunity to get to a World Cup easier. Yes there will be  favourites but there might be some wild cards as well like Bermuda,  Barbadoes,  Curaçao, Cuba, French Guiana

So instead of the CFU teams potentially drawing money from World Cup participants of, say, Mexico, USA (usually), Costa Rica and Honduras, you want to split them off separately and have the entire onus be on Jamaica to trickle down their World Cup money?

A Copa America would be great ! I still love to see an  Arctic  confederation . That would be really  competitive.  Most teams would be equally matched.

Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Canada,USA, Russia,Iceland,Greenland,Faroe Islands, Svalbard and you probably add a few more islands.

Man those games would draw and awesome to see. An Arctic Cup would awesome to watch. But it will never happen. Only in dreams haha

Ya Jamaica is a strong team but you guys are  really  underestimating the other  Caribbean teams.  Trinidad and Tobago won against the United States, Haiti is a strong team,  Bermudea is up-and-coming, Our Canadian U17 lost to Cuba U17 in the last U17 tourney. Curacao and French  Guiana made it to the Gold Cup.

Carribean teams versus Caribbean teams It’s  competitive .

I have never understood the appeal of this Arctic Cup idea, unless it's just trying gerrymander a competition where people think we can do better. Are we THAT traumatized by Honduras?

If there is an Arctic Cup, I would say you can only use players that are from inside the Arctic circle. "You are from Iqualuit? Sorry, that's too far south for this competition. Let us know if you have any friends from Clyde River, Resolute, or Alert that can play."

That's all fine, but it's already enough of a stretch to give the CFU a full spot, it would be very outrageous for CFU to get 2 spots. CONCACAF includes CFU and only gets 3.5 spots. So if CFU deserves 2 spots, I guess that means North and Central America only deserve 1.5 spots.

So whether it's Jamaica, or Haiti or whoever, you have 1 team spreading the wealth with all the others in your CFU solution.

Conveniently spread across just 600 time zones. ?

Most of our European players are already flying across a crazy amount of times zones. Also look at our starting 11, it’s mainly European Club based players. So it would help them. Also they would get to play on decent pitches, not some hole in  Honduras where you get pissed thrown at you.

I suspect those Honduran pitches are still better than some of the ones in the Caribbean.  One was as flooded as a rice paddy, some had barren spots that made them look like they belonged to underfunded high schools in podunk rural towns in Northern Ontario.
