Because you can never do this early enough! Ages listed are the ages the players would be by this date in June of 2026

                        Larin (Age 31)

Davies (Age 25)                    Millar (Age 26)

Kaye (Age 32) Daniels  (Age 27)

                           Fraser (Age 28)

Kinunbe (Age 28)          Dunn (Age 27) Cornelius (Age 29) Cordova (Age 30)

                                 Busti (Age 27)

This is a wild guess based only on known players at the moment, we don't know which 12-13 year olds who will be in their early 20's will have broken on to the scene by then.

It's not too early at all.

By then we will have figured out CRISPER and cloning.

Hutch   Hutch   Hutch
Hutch   Hutch   Hutch
Hutch  Hutch    Hutch

              Hutch

We only play with 10 'cause it's all we need and it  intimidates the other team.

8 years from now we can all come back to this thread and have a good laugh at how far off these predictions would be.  How many people would have predicted Davies progression 4 years ago let alone 8.  :)

I have seen the bio vats under the CSA headquarters.

My prediction is accurate.

I think Davies could squeak into that lineup.

This thread and all immediate soccer operations should be locked and shut down.

I have been informed by someone on the Internet, that we do not produce players as well as Barcelona does.

The future is hopeless.  End it all now.

TBF, that's a decent base of players, some starting on div 1 teams.

I think it will be 90% guys that are presently in their early teens. The CPL will bring light to more hidden gems in Davies' mold, which will allow said talent to be harnessed. I'm calling it now....2026 will be for us what 2002 was for Korea....minus any help from the refs of course.

Honestly, while it may be a wee bit early, to predict the starting 11, the thought of a few hidden-gem 12-14 yr old wunderkids that will mature within the WC timeline is pretty exciting.  There are some really talented kids that I see  playing at that age even at the local level - the coaching and development opportunities for those identified as potentially elite players is so much further ahead than it was a decade or two ago.

I'm curious how many WC teams at this year's edition will only have 3 players in their 30s in the starting XI, and none over 32.

Actually a few of those guys will be younger than that.. Cornelius 28, Kaye 31, Dunn 26 come World Cup time.

Cavallini 33, Piette 31 and Osorio 34 should also be there. Piette will probably be our most capped player and in his prime. Ya never know we might have a wild card old guy like Hoilett or Arfield too.

8 years is a long way off to predict a line-up. Too early for that. However, if Canada wants to realistically compete as far as the 2026 FIFA World Cup I have stressed this to every one of my friends that Canada needs to focus on youth development at every age level. Building more training facilities for young kids but also developing all Canadian born players and having them play abroad would be another step. By having them play either in the MLS or in other European leagues would be a way for Canadian players to mature but also develop a stronger sense for the game. If Herdman sticks around as manager by then then I think we could realistically compete. However, provided Canada takes these steps.

end of topic...

too early to think about 2026.

"End of topic"?

Guys, we can have a serious discussion about who will be in the starting line up for 2026 in January of 2023. As I've already indicated, this thread is meant to be a bit of fun in a time of celebration - throw out a bunch of names now and see how many you get right 8 years later - just for fun! If we can't have fun threads when we have something to celebrate, when can we.

Some of you guys are reminding me of the Colonel in the Monty Python films & sketches ie. "Stop that! Stop that! That's silly! Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do... except perhaps my wife and some of her friends... oh yes and Will Johnson. Come to think of it most people likes a good laugh more than I do. But that's beside the point. Now, let's have a good clean healthy serious line-up discussion in five years time"

Sheesh, you'll be telling me that my hair is too long to be a real vicar next......
