Given things are regionalised after the third tier that's a long way down the pecking order. Have they really only watched him on video? This is also totally mistaken, it gets tiring in the end, really. In Belgium you have first, second, and second amateur division, 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier. Clear as day. There are two groups, 36 teams. So he was a scorer in Belgium 3rd tier. At least it seems so, it is a bit hard to figure out. He's only 23 and has been on top clubs in the country. All you have to do is check your fact, but you just don't care. Formentera is now in 4th tier but he played for them last season, in 2B, third tier. Signed in January. 2b is fully pro in Spain. Just over a year ago they were playing a round of 16 Spanish Cup tie vs. Alavés. They only relegated directly for one point difference. Impact signed Piette from the same level of Spanish professional football, now go check the Izarra attendances since you love deluding yourself into thinking it has anything at all to do with the subject of professional football. Everyone knows that's the real indicator /s In order to be able to pay your players a full-time salary you need to be able to raise a substantial amount of revenue. One of the most important revenue streams in the absence of lucrative TV rights deals is paid attendance and the size of the average paid attendance usually correlates closely with several other important revenue streams like sponsorships and merchandising. That's kind of why CanPL has been talking a lot about crowds of 6000 to 8000 as there is usually a break even crowd size you need to reach for revenues to keep pace with expenses. If you have a tenth of that with 600 paying spectators on average and around 20 players and staff to provide full-time salaries for at a bare minimum, that means you need 30 spectators to be kicking in enough of their disposable income to pay a share of the club's other overheads and one liveable full-time salary. In back of an envelope terms a generous estimate of $500 x 30 = $15,000 = good luck with that. Senorpopps
Mortotsi could have been signed with the purpose of having your bench players familiar with your system. Yah, he'll likely get few minutes, but it helps in training to play with guys who understand the system your team is trying to develop.
BringBackTheBlizzard
Another possibility is that if you give someone like Tomi Ameobi more than the average starter salary to attract him back there will probably have to be a local player on the roster that will be getting significantly less than the going rate to compensate for that. BringBackTheBlizzard
That seems to contradict what Rob Gale tweeted about Raphael Ohin's situation in being domestic for the Valour a few weeks back as that didn't seem to revolve around citizenship but having PR or possibly some refugee related status. BringBackTheBlizzard
Guess he probably got married to a Canadian during his previous time with FCE, because I don't think being a professional soccer player would get you very far in the points system. yothat
Tomi Amoebi got married to an local singer in Edmonton(andrea Wilson). Edem morts is phenomal shape judging by his instagram. Gonna be a terror on the physical side. Have to ask the question?! Why didn't he sign anywhere else after 2013 season or try his hand playing in Ghana ?? professional league, pdl, finland. Why not bring back saiko, Hamilton, sidra?.. Just missing Matt lam and tam nsaliwa to get all the local flavor. Assuming the next round of signing are David Doe, Abe Duk and.. Few other top academy players.
CDNFootballer
Albert Watson was recently released from his Icelandic Premier League club, possibly on way back to FCE : "Watson has parted company with the Icelandic club by mutual agreement and is believed to be weighing up his options. That could include returning to the NIFL Premiership, or going back to North America where he spent five years with Canadian club FC Edmonton." https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/albert-watson-linked-irish-league-15694621 Hope he makes it back the the Eddies! yothat
Watson might be a step to slow @ 33. Good positioning could make up for it. For a third keeper - would daniel fernendez or Christian Kaiswatum( think he's a real estate agent right now) still young.
BenFisk'sBiggestFan
If FC Edmonton does need a third keeper this year, it will more than likely be an academy kid coming up to play. Or an ex-academy college keeper. With only 23 players signed, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a couple academy kids getting minutes this year. Edem has physically gotten stronger and much faster since his last stint with FCE when he was a 19,20 year old. He also did not get along or fit into Colin's playing style and went on trials in Sweden, he ended up picking up a serious achilles injury prior to signing a contract in Sweden and has been rehabbing and training hard for a moment like this. Edem will shock the league with his play this upcoming season. BenFisk'sBiggestFan

Amazing vision, good ball control. He was quite young last stint with FC Edmonton as well. Now that he is a man he may have the physical side of his mastered. I think many people are underestimating the quality of FC Edmonton’s midfield. I’m not sure if Paulus wants to use Allan as a mid, but if he does, Edmonton has a midfield 3 of Yongchan, Mortotsi, and Zebie. If Yongchan is everything people have been saying that midfield 3 has a ton of potential. Add in Khabra, B. Zebie and a couple others and FCE is set.
