FC Edmonton is pleased to announce the club has signed midfielder Son Yongchan to a contract, following an outstanding showing at the Canadian Premier League’s #GotGame Open Trials. Son becomes the first International player in FC Edmonton’s CPL history.

The club has also signed Bruno Zebie, Ajeej Sarkaria and Ajay Khabra to contracts. All three are graduates of the FC Edmonton Academy.

Crunched some numbers based on the ticket availability data found here: https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/fcedmonton/EN/buy/details/19EDFS

As of December 13 at 11:19PM mountain, there are 1,515 tickets available for purchase. Based on capacity data of 5,100 being thrown around, my back of the napkin calcs say that 3,585 season tickets have been sold. This assumes they haven't set a bunch aside for match day walk ups. I'm also not sure if the 5,100 capacity includes suites and the premium pitch side tables.

Regardless, based on the preliminary data, this seems extremely promising.

Interesting that 280 seats are available in 108B, the supporters section.

It is possible that in some of the sections where no seats are available, they haven't released those tickets yet or are keeping them for match day walk ups

This one is especially interesting as Sarkaria was drafted and he makes it sound as though he is done with University soccer despite having two years of eligibility left.

So I am guessing that he decided that he didn't want to miss a good chunk of the season for University soccer and signed a full time contract instead of whatever the U Sports contract was

Sarkaria and Khabra are Punjabi. Khara on the Edmonton Oilers is Punjabi. Am I living in the wrong city?

Paulus hinted at another winger similar to REB who is 6ft, lightning quick and great on the counter.

Also, “we’ve got another big striker, who people will be happy to find out we’ve signed..”

Guesses on these two?  Maybe Twardek/Cebara and Haber/Jackson/Fordyce/RICKETTS?
