HFX Wanderers launch/2019 offseason thread

Friday night's TFC game against Minnesota with the choice of uniforms (when has TFC ever worn blue? oh Earth Day weekend they explained) made it look like an HFX Wanderers intra-squad game.

TFC was wearing Double Blue to pay homage to their football brothers.

If you are going off wikipedia bear in mind that they go by country of birth for dual nationality players when deciding what flag to use, if there is no clear national team affiliation. Also worth noting that U-sports draft picks count as domestic regardless of where they come from.

Really good chat with Derek Martin from a trialist turned podcast host. One of the more interesting notes is that the kit design is already completed for next year and they'll be releasing new kits annually moving forward.

All I heard them say was that he's out for Sunday, so hopefully it's not long-term

...Both the pre-season training in Halifax and the games in the Dominican had its consequence fitness wise. When the team flies out of Halifax on Friday, it’ll be without some experienced players after the squad picked up injuries.

The injuries mean options will be limited for the Wanderers but Hart and his coaching staff have an idea of the 14 players they’d like to mix and match in the game.

“We’ll make that decision on who travels. This first game, I think we know basically who we would like to go in the game with and how we’d like to approach the game,” said Hart ahead of releasing the travelling roster...
