I think 3 is left fullback traditionally anyways... As far as it calling him a defender, I'd take the article over the graphic... Lets face it as well, do we really think the graphic person at SEA is a soccer person? Could have heard defensive midfield and just put defender. From the look of his play he should slot into the DM role.

DigzTFC
I also started scouring the internet for trials/academy players from the Maritimes: Phoenix Roberts 14 year old GK https://globalnews.ca/news/3694559/13-year-old-new-brunswick-soccer-player-first-in-province-to-join-montreal-impact-academy/ Simon Bitar - 15 year old https://www.theguardian.pe.ca/sports/soccer/four-island-soccer-players-going-to-vancouver-whitecaps-fc-camp-106727/ Oscar Marshall, Connor Manuel and Brandon Phelps https://www.impactmontreal.com/fr/post/2017/07/28/academy-scouting-maritimes https://www.impactmontreal.com/en/post/2017/07/29/two-impact-u17-players-chicago-mls-all-star-week Looks like the same Michael O'Brien from above: https://www.thetelegram.com/sports/soccer/young-soccer-star-training-at-pro-academy-132092/
DigzTFC
Yeah sorry guys. I left Gaudet & Craig off because I thought they'd go younger for Canadians. Also, I thought Oxner was a given since he was drafted. I guess he still needs to earn a contract

I know Shaffelburg signed with TFC 2 Somehow I never noticed how badly they butchered Emmanuel Dolo's entry. His name is misspelt "Emmanuelle", his club is misspelt "Fieldiens" instead of "Feildians" and he's listed as being from some place called St. John's, Nova Scotia. Yikes. At any rate I really do hope a Newfoundlander makes the Wanderers roster. Dolo and Felly Elonda are definitely the best bets. Wayyyyyy too many of the earlier Wanderers releases had tonnes of spelling mistakes and factual errors. They listed "St. John's, NS" multiple times leading up to the game. They got another player's name wrong too. They have Johnathan Cordoba, but his name is actually Jhonattan, as well as spelling Colombia as Columbia. They haven't made any mistakes like this in a long time, so I think those days are behind us now, hahahaha.
Copes
Not sure if you guys saw the new "Exclusive Offer" in the CPL app, but the team seems to be doing a draw for the opportunity to sit down and have lunch with Stephen Hart. http://canpl.ca/hfx-wanderers-lunch-contest/ Here is the thing though - it talks about entering on the app, but when you click on the exclusive offer it just gives you text about the contest. Anyone figure this out? Cool idea, great outreach. But I'm either dumb or they have bungled the entry.
DigzTFC
Just went back on the Victor Mendes Article: https://www.thewhig.com/sports/local-sports/local-soccer-coach-part-on-new-national-soccer-league “If you sign a developmental contract, you can play during the season,” he said. “They are allowed to sign and play in the professional league under the condition, but come Aug. 15, which is when all [U Sports] training camps start, will be released back to the university and be allowed to play in that fall season.” Each team in the CPL will be allowed seven international players, but the majority of players on each team will be Canadian. Plus we know from CPL Commissioner we have 20-23 man roster. The CanPL Hub @thecanplhub 1h1 hour ago The latest comments from Canadian Premier League commissioner David Clanachan put roster sizes between 20 and 23. The maximum of seven foreign players allowed includes Americans. DigzTFC
I watched a Sukunda interview and he mentioned his time with FC Montreal and when it folded in 2016. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Montreal I wonder if there would be an advantage to signing some players from that roster who are available. KW519
I was thinking Stephen Hart would use a Trini card and guaranteed playing time to try and convince Ryan Telfer to ask for a loan move. TFC has virtually no wide players though, and Telfer could be set for a bigger role in the team so I don't see that panning out. I imagine with Bunbury announcing a future club(s) in Québec the HFX scouting team is aware they only have one off-season to be a first choice destination for top PLSQ prospects. It's important they take their time and get the right PLSQ signings that check all the boxes for the Wanderers long term. There's a good chance the club has already identified and maybe already signed a couple young men and we just haven't heard about it yet. Should only be a matter of time before we see a Québécois contingent on the east coast
