maccaliam
Interesting that his xG is roughly the same. Hopefully he gets his shooting boots back and begins to bury those chances. Even if he doesn’t overperform as he did last year, he would be doing well to justify his position in the team. I take some solace from that. Ed_S
The team is undefeated. I wouldn't panic too much. Seems to be making decent runs opening up space for his teammates to score. Nate3322, Ivan, h coach and 1 other

LeoH037
so instead of overperforming he's underperforming now... the universe has a funny way of keeping balance.. Cblake

Floortom
Hard to disagree with this from Lille’s perspective. David played himself out of the starting 11 - hopefully he does better as a sub and plays himself back in. VinceA
I'm interested in seeing how the game plays out. If Nice have an easier time attacking and defending then perhaps David's presence alone was a big help to Lille's attack and workrate. narduch
Nice are 5th in the table. They won't be a pushover. Cblake
JuicyHam
I know I said bench would be the time to panic but this is how he broke into the Gent lineup. Lots of second half substitutes and he kept scoring until they couldn't justify not starting him. He's playing well until he has the open net Cblake
Ansem
Maybe it was the pressure. Coming off the bench reduces that pressure and he might be more efficient. Not a bad way to build up his confidence Obinna, Alex and Cblake
dyslexic nam
Having Lille either tied or behind is a good scenario too. Ideally they will go into the last 20-25 minutes needing a goal and he gets on the field as an impact sub. Cblake
Alex
I don’t hate the idea of him coming off the bench, that’s how he started at Gent and he really took off immediately. Cblake
WestHamCanadianinOxford
Made myself watch the first half of Lille's game. I think there is something to be said for the assertion that David's runs open up space even if nothing else is working for him. Nice have probably shaded being the better team, Lille started pressing later in the half and were getting some joy from that. Aird25
I think they’ve missed his pressing up top too. Their CBs have too much time on the ball Ansem and Cblake
