[ 2 ] I like Tanya Boychuk.  She was Alberta's leading scorer in the 2017 Canada Summer Games Winnipeg  and  apparently  she's a skilled diver ( but not that kind ) :

QUOTE  :  Tanya has also committed much of herself to becoming a provincially and nationally ranked diver. She earned a gold medal at the 2015 Canadian National Diving Championship, two bronze medals at the 2015 Pan American Games in Cuba, and 12 gold medals at various provincial events.

QUOTE:   Although Tanya qualified for both sports, the Games’ diving and soccer competitions are scheduled during the same week, forcing Tanya to choose between the two. She chose soccer.

[ 3 ]  I'm curious to see how Jessica De Filippo does. She looked good in the 2016  L1O All Star game playing for Quebec U18-F  and  was  the tournament's top scorer in the 2017 Canada Summer Games Winnipeg.

Canada has looked great in the midfield with some nice passes and turns. Unfortunately, they have been unable to capitalize on any of their possession and chances (albeit they may have scored on a corner, but no VAR).

Taylor's first touch has been awful. Besides the goal, she also stumbled two other times leading to chances.

I'm confident that Canada will get one back in the second half.

HT  Costa Rica 1 - 0  Canada

The slow pitch benefits Costa Rica and neutralizes some of Canada's pace: Riviere, Flynn, Huitema

Costa Rica  back with numbers and getting some joy on the counter.

The Costa Rica keeper  has spilled the ball twice and Canada couldn't capitalize.

Wow. Great run Regan and she wins a penalty kick.

Stratigakis' kick is saved but she scores on the rebound. However, the assistant called it back for offside (somehow)!!!

Assistant ref got it wrong. Not sure why that was ruled out.

Re. Danny Worthington

I saw a lot video clips of  him in the background with senior team in 2017 . His current Canada Soccer profile identifies his role as technical support/technical assistant with the CANWNT

Gets the coffee and doughnuts from Tim's for the meetings?

There are quite a few Whitecaps' academy folk in the squad this time around.  Two years ago, I think there was one, maybe two.

Also, what's the head coach from the 2016 team, Danny Worthington, up to lately?

Part of this is that they're funnelling most of the top pre-college players to Vancouver.

So some of the Whitecaps players on this roster only moved there this past summer.

And I thought that we relied on dual nationals! What is with all the CanCon on Jamaica? If they have so many Canadian duals then why don't they have Americans?

They do have Americans - Sydney Schneider, Erin Mikalsen, Jadyn Matthews, Shayla Smart, Madiya Harriott, Giselle Washington, Mireya Grey, Jazmin Grant (and there's probably more I'm tired of searching) all at the very least play/ed for US club teams.

That's what I thought, judging from the hometowns of the players.    Thanks for the info.

^ I counted 11 Americans on Jamaica U20.  In addition , in their  tournament opener ( a loss to Mexico )  Jamaica  started  nine Americans, 1 Canadian ( Emily Caza ) ,and 1 native Jamaican. Then  their three subs were one of each nationality  -- the Canadian sub  was  Ebony Clarke .
