BreadBoy
Sounds like 2018 will be a busy year. Can anyone provide a summary of what the major events are for the women's side? Pretty easy to find CNWT info but I'm having a harder time finding info for u-20, u-17, u-15 events. Cheers

Cheers Qualifying for the 2019 WWC should take place in 2018 at some point when CONCACAF decides to get around to scheduling it. (For the 2015 WWC it was October 2014). CONCACAF U20 WWC qualifying is January 18th to 28th 2018 in Trinidad & Tobago. If they finish top three there (they....should), the U20 WWC is August 5th to 24th in France. (This will be interesting overall because Canada has a pretty strong U20 pool - Jessie Fleming, Deanne Rose, Jordyn Huitema, Julia Grosso, Ariel Young, Jayde Riviere Gabby Carle, Kennedy Faulknor and possibly more I'm forgetting all have senior caps, but it's unclear who all they'll send - aka whether Jessie Fleming will go to this). CONCACAF U17 WWC qualifying is early 2018 (I don't know if there are dates yet but I haven't seen any) in Nicaragua. Again, if they finish top 3 there (which again, they...should) the U17 WWC is November 13th to December 1st in Uruguay. (Jordyn Huitema, among others, is still eligible for this). I haven't seen anything about a CONCACAF U15 championship but they've been doing it every two years since it started so there will likely be another one next year. Vic
A Euro final repeat in Group 3. With Japan some great matches in that group. Good chance they knock each other out of the final. Final could be Australia v. Canada/Sweden winner.

I assume they weren't invited and settled for the Cyprus Cup, but maybe they wanted to try something new. Good opportunity for South Korea anyway. Jith12
The final rankings for the year are out and we have remained fifth. The Matildas jumped us and into fourth but France fell back to sixth. The loss to the US in San Jose is a real shame because it is likely that a win would've got us over 2030 points which would've gotten us into fourth. From my understanding, the top four at year's end qualify for the SheBelieves Cup, correct?

I'm pretty sure it was a contract with USSF for France, Germany and England to play in it (just going off memory, but I seem to remember it being 3 years maybe? so that would end after this year's tournament), plus Australia is already announced as going to the Algarve Cup so I'd imagine She Believes is just those same teams again. Olympique_de_Marseille
At the Senior Level: March --> Algarve For June (The Women's FIFA friendly window is from the 4th to the 12th): There are no TFC games at BMO Field in June and no Argos games until June 23rd.I feel BMO will host another women's Game during that period. For August 27th to September 4th: There is a TFC game at BMO on Sept 1st. No CFL game. They will want to play a friendly to prep for WCQs For October 1st to 9th: WCQ one would think. FIFA says from Oct 4th to Oct 17th http://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup/matches/preliminaries/index.html Likely in the USA as usual. November 5th to 13th: ??? Lol they've been at a training camp in Cancun since Tuesday and no amount of pestering Canada soccer has gotten them to release who is there. tc-in-bc
[ 1 ] To me they are leaving it to the very last moment because they're uncertain about their final roster. [ 2 ] Read that two Quebec players ( Guay & Laroche who scored against U18 USWNT in Australia ) did not go to Mexico but were both part of the December camp. But did they really fly people out to Mexico only to send them home, if they aren't sure what the final roster is yet? Based on her own instagram Jordyn Huitema is with the team now having not been at the camp in December (understandably enough). Soccer Quebec tweeted out which Quebeckers went, so yeah, no Guay or Laroche - https://twitter.com/SoccerQuebec/status/950397032266649601

tc-in-bc
[ 1 ] I'll rewrite my first point: in general procrastinators are not on top of things . But lo-and-behold we have a roster. [ 2 ] I like Tanya Boychuk. She was Alberta's leading scorer in the 2017 Canada Summer Games Winnipeg and apparently she's a skilled diver ( but not that kind ) : QUOTE : Tanya has also committed much of herself to becoming a provincially and nationally ranked diver. She earned a gold medal at the 2015 Canadian National Diving Championship, two bronze medals at the 2015 Pan American Games in Cuba, and 12 gold medals at various provincial events. QUOTE: Although Tanya qualified for both sports, the Games’ diving and soccer competitions are scheduled during the same week, forcing Tanya to choose between the two. She chose soccer. https://albertasoccer.com/meet-the-team-canada-summer-games-2/ [ 3 ] I'm curious to see how Jessica De Filippo does. She looked good in the 2016 L1O All Star game playing for Quebec U18-F and was the tournament's top scorer in the 2017 Canada Summer Games Winnipeg. Vic
Since 2002 we have played 42 home games and 205 away or neutral games. BC has hosted 16 games Quebec is almost twice the size of BC and has hosted just 3 games (and just 1 in the past 15 years) Ontario is almost three times the size of BC and has hosted 12 games (or 33% less). We have played France away six times since 2002, and another five neutral. They have never played here in 15 years. We should play friendlies against France in Montreal and Quebec City.
