Is he any good?... What position he plays?

He's a central midfielder, he played a little bit with OSU in League1 Ontario as well as with Carleton last year. He'd be a depth/project player if we signed him, but Mannella seems much more likely if we're going to sign another midfielder.

Dario Conte  has played one game for the Fury On 11 June 2016, Conte made his senior debut for the Fury in a 1–1 draw versus Rayo OKC, coming on as a substitute for captain Julian de Guzman. He also had trials with Crewe, Peteborough and Blackpool in England, he then joined Vancouver  U18 Academy  in Feb 2015, but was released at end of the season, then joined Fury  Academy for the 2016 season playing 18 games scoring 5 times, last year he joined OSU Force but only played 3 games scoring 1, also played for Carleton U, 13 apps 3 goals.

Ottawa beat Toronto FC II 1-0 today in a friendly in Toronto, Haworth had the lone goal on a cross from Seoane.

Trialists Monti Mohsen and Chris Mannella were in the lineup for Ottawa as well, so it may not be the end of new signings just yet.

It was a decent game. Max Crépeau held everything to a shut-out as well, which is noteworthy.

Tissot was injured and did not play. Thomas M-G was subbed on at the half as well (if I recall correctly - might have been 60-min).

Commentated on all his Carleton home games this year for ouatv.  Outstanding season by the young man and along with the Raven's two strikers who scored goals for fun, the three of them were an absolute pleasure to watch.  Conte reads the game extremely well and loves to jump into attack to support.  Very comfortable on the ball with great distribution and possession skills.  Bit on the small side but doesn't shy away from the physical aspect of the game.

The season with Carleton will have helped his game a lot as coming up against veteran lineups at UofT and Ryerson as well as at Nationals can only have made him a more well-rounded player.

Defending was pretty lax on 2 of the goals; hopefully they can sort that out as the season progresses and they get a few more healthy bodies in there. Glad to see Manella land on his feet; I know he bounced around a bit and he is exactly the kind of player CPL should help in the future.

Fury have another Canadian their 16th out of 27 players,  Shamit Shome on a season long loan from Montreal Impact . Fury have no game this week as it's their bye week, so hopefully some of their injured players will be back for their next game when they play   Toronto FC ll at BMO field at 7:30 March 31.

Saturday March 31st night's game TFC II vs Ottawa Fury has been postponed so BMO Field won't be so stomped up before the CONCACAF Champions game between TFC and Club America on Tuesday.   Not that Friday night's MLS game against Real Salt Lake game won't do that anyway.

Ottawa Fury 1 North Carolina 1  final score att. 6137, Fury goal was scored in 85th min by Portillo, when is corner kick was knocked into the net by the North Carolina keeper. So the Fury gained their first point of the season but are still on the bottom of the table. The Fury`s play this season is based on possesion, passing the ball back and fort mostly by the 3 or 4 at the back waiting for a opening by the misfielder`s or the forwards, but that means there has to be constant movement by these players and their was`nt and they dont have the speed to get into the openings, it was only when Hayworth came on as a sub that things started to open up a bit. Fury are still missing a number of what would be considered  starting players like Tissot,  Attakora, Obasi (suspended), Luboyera,  etc.

Next game is home on saturday to Cincinnati.

I don't know how Haworth didn't start. They didn't look dangerous at all until he came on

I think Popovic has been dissatisfied with our offense so far (reasonably so), which is why he's been tinkering with the front 3 so much. But I think this last game should have shown that Carl's an integral part of the team's offense. He's one of our only attackers who has real chemistry with the rest of the players and he's the type of player who can create offense on his own. And he's just really good, needless to day.

So, I think Popovic can get the benefit of the doubt for now. If Carl gets benched again next week, then we can start sharpening our pitchforks.

Watched the highlights, looked like a fluky goal to nab a point at the end there. I was also hoping for a better turnout for the home opener; how was the weather?

Weather was great, turnout was great. Great event all around, except not getting the win.
