The first round of re-signings has been announced, the club has clarified on Twitter that more are coming in the next couple weeks, just still being negotiated. Here's the list so far:

Carl Haworth

Callum Irving

Eddie Edward

Steevan Dos Santos

Sito Seoane

Sergio Manesio

Jimmy-Shammar Sanon

Azake Luboyera

I'm pretty happy with this, we've got the bulk of our key players from last season; so a good base to build on. Hopefully Azake can have an injury-free season and really show us what he can do, he was wonderful to watch in his handful of appearances. And if Jimmy keeps working on some of the technical side of his game and gets more experiece he could be an absolute menace off the bench with that speed and shooting of his. Manesio has often seemed a bit unpolished, but I'm sure with another year under Julian's tutelage he could be a very solid holding mid. The rest are pretty much no-brainers. Sito's lack of endurance has held him back at times, but he usually plays a great 45 minutes of football whether it's in the XI or off the bench.

Hopefully we'll see some more returning central midfielders and centre-backs, Bruna, Dixon, McEleney and Del Campo had great seasons. I have a feeling that between Obasi and Campbell we'll see Campbell stay and Obasi move up a level, he's far too good for USL and I can't imagine we're going to pay to keep two starter-quality LBs. I dunno about Barden, much like with the Campbell/Obasi situation I can't imagine we'll be resigning him as a RB with Eddie on the roster; despite some stellar games later on in the year he simply isn't as well-rounded or consistent as Eddie, so I'm a little doubtful we'll see him again unless he wants to fight for his spot at RB or CM.

Julian is apparently under contract for next season, so he will definitely be with the staff in some capacity. He says that "[He's] more than happy to take any role just to be part of this club," but that if he got the top job he would want to play "efficient football," i.e. football that is "Not just attractive for the fans, but, you know, gets the results." (shots fired)

Pugh commented that we will know next season's staff by the end of this year. Apparently both Ottawa and Montreal had some gripes about the affiliation agreement last season, but a revised agreement is likely going to be signed for next season. He also says that he's fully supportive of the CPL, but will wait until more details are made public before considering whether the club would want to join it.

The Fury have signed Nana Attakora and Maxim Tissot. Both played with San Francisco last year.

In other news, Bruce Grobbelaar is no longer the GK Coach. The news release from the team did not provide any further details.

Tissot was my favourite player from 2016. Genuinely awesome guy, and will help promote the team among Francophones in the region as well. Tellement hâte maintenant!
