Forge and FCE tickets reps saying jerseys will be revealed April 4. If the assumption that VW was one of seven kit sponsors they need to start announcing those soon, unless they’ll be unveiled with the jerseys. Not sure how I feel about all jerseys being released at once.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about shirt sponsors yet. Might be a hard sell for a new league: hard for the sponsors to know what they are actually getting.

Better fashion than the ubiquitous extra skinny super tight slim fit for overweight people-who-souldn’t-wear-skinny-shit (like me!!!) that we have today.

wow way to be behind on fashion ;) skinny jeans and slim fit have been out for like 7 years and 90s fashions we like cartoon shit and it's time the people who lived them admit the 90s were a bland boring decade with garbage fashion, music, and film.

Garbage films?! Stop it! Braveheart, everything by Bruce Willis, Starship Troopers, half of the Star Trek movies, Arnold Schwarzenneger did like a million flicks in the 90s! C’mon! And... garbage CGI wasn’t a thing yet... garbage music?!?! Grunge anyone?!?!?!?!!!!!! Ha ha... but yeah, the fashion wasn’t the greatest.

90s were a super mixed bag for film. but most of the highs were under similar highs from the 70s and 80s and have been passed by films of the oughts and evens 10s.

Grunge was good but grunge also derailed alt rock big time and allowed the space for rap to surpass rock as the most popular genre by allowing lowly regarded post grunge to dominate rock radio

That last bit of your comment really does ring true.

I just finished watching Eyes Wide Shut and Fight Club again....the late 90s had some good eye opening thematic movies. Obviously it doesn’t come close to the greatest year in movie history which was 2007 but still, some good stuff came out back then.

90s cinema is interesting because studios really didn't know what to do. you ended up with a lot of cookie cutter pussified copies of 1 or 2 films (think the blast of witty crime films that followed pulp fiction) for a long ass time. by the end of the decade you started to see a shift happen where fresher ideas were coming out of mainstream american film  like fight club, magnolia, american beauty or the matrix but the road to get there took forever. the copy cat trend continued into the early oughts but it mostly died in favour of franchises and horror as tent poles, this model has both its pros and cons but is producing better than content for the time being. you still see the copycats happen but it's usually on a smaller scale than the 90s.

indie and foreign cinema was solid but, as i mentioned earlier, a lot of that stuff was surpassed in the oughts. pretty much all the cool indie and foreign masters made their best stuff in the oughts: anderson made there will be blood, kar wai made in the mood for love, the coens made no country, ect. a lot of that is due to studios being fine with critical hits over blockbusters thanks to the franchise trend, so we end up with a film like the favourite getting a heavy oscar push when just a decade ago it would have been almost competely ignored outside of small circles.

that said, fight club is still probably the most subversive major studio film ever given wide release.

Yeah it could be Germany c. 1970's:

Even at the time the MLS kits looked bizarre and the first set of names like Burn, Wiz and Clash were being widely ridiculed, so if CanPL follows a similar trajectory in the years ahead we might still see some old CSL or NASL names get dusted off and recycled and some European sounding names thrown into the mix. Definitely hilarious but not sure that a youtube clip featuring Gunter Netzer should be taken as typical of West Germany in the 1970s.

Potential FC Edmonton jersey posted on a local soccer shop Instagram?

Unlikely to be the jersey because I doubt Dylan Powley would be posing with it before the launch. And it’s pretty boring.
