Morgan v Teibert....I won't say who but one of them has multiple V Cups and MLS Supporters Shield and MLS Cup.😉

Zav and Hagglund also have a bunch of hardware..doesnt change the quality of player you are.

Djimi Traore, having won the UEFA Champions League, is clearly one of the best players in MLS history, right? 😉

Easy on Morgan guys, he's had a decent MLS career and always answered the call for our National team which he chose over Jamaica who I know for fact were trying to cap him, I worked with one of his close relatives!

Morgan's a humble pro who made the most of his talent. He was always proud to wear the Maple Leaf, too.

There is speculation that MDS is looking to add a player from the CPL?  Could it be one of Zator, Bekker, Sissoko, or Carducci?  Does anyone have any insight to add?

Hoping it's a defender that can earn some quality minutes.

Most folks think it is Bekker based on chatter and tweets posted in the CPL section.

It’s been pretty clear for some time that Bekker is the best in class midfielder playing in the CPL.  He’s in his prime and a good distributor in the middle.  It’s interesting that he’s also developed into a tenacious and hard nosed defender as he’s matured too.

I’m not surprised with their past successes together and Bekker’s form that MDS is looking for a transfer for him.   He would be an improvement over the shambolic midfield play the Whitecaps have right now.

It would be a well deserved move. He won’t solve everything, but that is the kind of player they need. He could probably start until the caps can bring in a real quality creative midfielder, then I can see him playing alongside said player, or being used as a good substitute.

I forgot Bekker was a real producer for MDS in San Fran.  This makes a lot more sense now.  That would be nice for the league if Bekker got back up to MLS.  Hes got almost 50 MLS games and was once a fringe CMNT player in the dark days when Floro took over i n 2013.  He has had 3 good seasons since leaving MLS, becoming a real professional and could probably be a squad MLS player again.  I think I would still give the kids a run, although Metcalfe didnt seem too impressive.

Metcalfe and Teibert provide no offensive. You can have one, but not both. Bekker with one of Teibert or Metcalfe with Baldisimo behind at least gives them a slim chance to get the ball to Cavallini.

The only plus for the Caps with Bekker is that he usually has provided good deadball service.  With the few opportunities the Caps have had, Adnan has been inconsistent or has deferred to Metcalfe once (sailed over everyone) and Baldi with a his nice bending shot.  They need to make the most of those chances.  Not seeing any significant upgrade in what he can contribute that others are anticipating, so I will just agree to disagree.  Will gladly eat crow if I am proven wrong, however. 😉

The last thing I want to see is Baldi sent back to the bench in the hopes of a short term fix by what looks to be a lame duck coach.  He's a local kid who shows promise and it would be nice to see him get a good shot to see if he indeed has the goods, so to speak.  Sorry, folks, but this season is already a write off:  Now is about next year.

The other good thing is we have Alistair Johnson at Nashville who is coming around so you have a decent backup at rb which allows you more flexibility of playing Laryea and ZBG and pushing Davis forward.

Not enough!  We need at least 5-6 RBs playing well and regularly to make sure we never see Godinho get called up again!  Sorry guys, i'm just joking around and couldn't help myself.  Peace brothers.

Right - Looks like MiB knockout games aren’t factored in.

I noticed that also when seeing that Jayden Nelson had 0 minutes in MLS but started in the knockout game for TFC.

I didn't realize there were that many.  A few points:

- This seems like a large pool of Canadian talent that CPL can potentially tap into to.  Any talk of expansion when there are CanCon requirements will inevitably lead to the question of whether or not expansion would result in dilution of talent.  This definitely seems to indicate that there would be plenty of quality to go around while maintaining a strong Canadian identity in the league.

- Having said that, it is probably good for some of our young guys to get exposure to different leagues.  Would be nice if everyone could play at a really high pro level but those things tend to sort themselves out and if this is the appropriate level for these guys then it is great they are getting playing time.

- The fact that players have options means they will also be able to maximize their earning power - which in turn will pressure CPL teams to pay competitive wages to Canadians.  At the end of the day, the league has to be able to balance their fiscal capacity with paying a wage that justifies the players' level of effort and commitment, but giving players a solid plan B will help ensure the league won't underpay them.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the number of Canadians in the USL will soon decrease (next year) as Canadians will go back to be counting a internationals rather than Domestic.

whats funny is how this rule has changed so often after so many claims for lawsuits, and labour laws bullsheit.
