I posed the question as to who gets the 2nd spot on a CPL post on Facebook but got no response. I haven't seen anything official still. If you are correct, this means Cavalry have a greater than 50% chance of winning it now, because there will be at least one finalist that will clinch it for them if they win. I guess there is also a 50% chance that the loser of 1 v 2 wins the semi final, so it's a 75% chance Cavalry gets the 2nd spot. The only way they don't get it is if the winner of the 3 v (winner of 4 v 5) wins the whole thing. This account posted it. And I think I remember reading the same last year. ahmedou and Kent

red card
First noticed during the Panama match and then on CPL Outcome matches but officially announced today is the hatching of an eggciting partnership with Burnbrae Farms. You may have noticed their sponsorship of CPL Eggstra Time on OneSoccer. They will be helping in CPL player visits to youth clubs & Eat Like a Pro contests. And expect product sampling such as possibly via bite-size omelletes or scotch eggs at a CPL match next year. So, already in the top 3 for most engaged with CPL/Canada Soccer. It has been at least a year since the last sponsorship announcement, continues trend of most sponsors opting for both CPL & Canada Soccer (including Cdn Championship) and first under Blue (but no Canada Soccer announcement yet). It also fills another segment of the chicken sponsorship food chain - now need a chicken restaurant. There are also some on social media who regularly attack Burnbrae for caging hens. shermanator
I appreciate this analogy.... Quote “We’ve ignored the noise on what we haven’t done previous,” Cavalry GM/head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. declared ahead of Sunday’s visit to play first-place Forge in the CPL’s 1-2 game at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field (2 p.m., OneSoccer, OneSoccer.ca). “It’s like when you talk to your wife about your ex-girlfriends,” the Cavs sideline boss continued. “Sometimes you’ve got to stop talking about your ex-girlfriends because you’re with your wife now. https://calgaryherald.com/sports/soccer/calgary-cavalry/cavalry-aims-leave-playoff-woes-against-forge-in-past ahmedou and narduch 1

Are Hamilton supporters concerned that Forge already peaked before the playoffs? Concerned? Not especially. I'll be happy if Ottawa win the league this year, they've had a great season. We've been undone by not properly replacing Henry (Koleilat is not good enough and Kalongo is still green) and by not having a consistent goal scoring threat post-Poku. So long as those get addressed in the off season, we'll be fine for next year (I hope.) ahmedou and gator

I don't think the keeper position has been the problem although I think Koleilat made a mess up on the goal yesterday, Kalongo was strong at the start of the season and is a big reason we eliminated CF Montreal, goals against were with the best in the league and that is after losing an important CB in James! The problem as you mentioned is a lack of a healthy striker after Poku left, goals can come from anywhere with this team but I think they have become easier to defend against because of the absence of an in form striker! It would absolutely be good for the league if someone other than Forge win the play offs as much as it pains me to say that, don't count out the lads in Spark Orange just yet though! Most Atletico supporters don’t think we’ve had a great season; we had a great first 8 games. Anyways, we will see what happens on Saturday but Forge has been written off so often before. I’m not writing them off to win the whole thing again this season even though they’ve slumped a bit after they clinched first place. ahmedou

Generally I've been pleased with the Macron uniforms save for two complaints: first, the name and number font. I hate the strikethrough at the top of each character. The second - although I admit it has been better - is the lack of contrast between many matchups. I'm still scarred from my first ever game that was VFC in black vs a red and black Cavalry. ahmedou, narduch and gator 2

Kent
29 minutes ago, Dominic94 said: Isn’t the league supposed to be expanding again for 2025 ? I think the cycle is that typically this time of year they say they are hopeful to expand 2 seasons into the future and then not announce anything during the next year. Then repeat. So yeah, probably in 2023 they said they expect to expand in 2025. And in 2022 they probably said they expect to expand in 2024, etc. Always optimistic, but never anything tangible enough that it's happening by next season. narduch and ahmedou
