TFC have been crappy at developing GKs in general recently. AFAIK TFC II doesn't have any HG keepers on their team (Vaikla is a Wexford and North Scarborough SC product), and the last option that had any potential was Phil Di Bennardo who I think suffered a rash of injuries and ultimately retired. And that was a number of years ago. Diop had his moments but isn’t clearly better than any of them; and it seems like all of them could play if given the chance. The reality is now that they don’t need to waste money and a international spot on a GK who isn’t playing. Being a good shot stopper is like a minimum requirement for a good goalkeeper though, and now it's expected for the top ones to also be good with the ball at their feet. If he became a full time starter for Montreal does Norway maybe suddenly have interest in him? Norway calls goalkeepers from their domestic league which I think goes without saying isn’t as good as the MLS. He should get a call to the main camp..ie lock him down. We dont want to get swooped on a guy who is MLS quality already, keeper is still way to thin a spot for us.
