Montreal: all Canadian keepers

Vancouver: all Canadian keepers (other than an American benchwarmer)

TFC: 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

It’s hard to cheer for Toronto right now.

TFC have been crappy at developing GKs in general recently. AFAIK TFC II doesn't have any HG keepers on their team (Vaikla is a Wexford and North Scarborough SC product), and the last option that had any potential was Phil Di Bennardo who I think suffered a rash of injuries and ultimately retired. And that was a number of years ago.

Eleias Himaras is a 2002 that was on the 2019 U17 WC squad so perhaps we see him with TFC II next year if he's still at the academy by then.

This great news that was on the wall. Diop had his moments but isn’t clearly better than any of them; and it seems like all of them could play if given the chance. The reality is now that they don’t need to waste money and a international spot on a GK who isn’t playing. There’s goalies on trees in Montreal.

Stopping balls, he's probably as good as Breza. He lacks in all the other facets of goalkeeping.

Being a good shot stopper is like a minimum requirement for a good goalkeeper though, and now it's expected for the top ones to also be good with the ball at their feet. Ultimately, goalkeepers still need to be football players.

I’d be surprised if his move wasn’t made permanent. He’s not going to get time with Bologna anytime soon.

If he became a full time starter for Montreal does Norway maybe suddenly have interest in him? Norway calls goalkeepers from their domestic league which I think goes without saying isn’t as good as the MLS.

Edit: He’s eligible for Poland as well

Dont we have interest in him....right now??  If he stays and wins the job outright next year, he has to be #3....and if he continues to do well at MLS level, whos to say he couldnt be right at #2B with Crepeau??  This is a guy Herdman should be locking down for us.

He was literally in our Olympic qualifying team in March of this year
