SpecialK 1,352
I would love to see the whitecaps try to get him. He would be a great addition. I bet he wouldn’t cost that much. hamiltonfan

Ansem 8,906
He was man of the match this week for St.Johnstone. Often forgotten, we are very fortunate to have him in our depth chart for the National team Shway, johnyb and Longrange
Shway 3,725
Although he didn't look good in his few caps, we'll definitely need his leadership and experience for a gruelling year. Dominic94 and Longrange
PiedPilko 643
He actually has the highest average rating on St. Johnstone this year, according to WhoScored. johnyb
Ansem 8,906
Yes, he's been very good this year despite flying under the radar. A must call up for me
jordan 3,562
Its a contract year, and they are trying to tie him to a new deal right now. johnyb
toontownman 3,357
No doubt he gets used this year if we play all the games we are supposed to. Could be a good Gold Cup squad member. johnyb and Longrange
JamboAl 1,875
Another excellent performance in the Betfred League Cup semi-final vs Hibs which the Perth Saints won 3-0. He flighted in the corner for the first goal. gator, Watchmen and Olympique_de_Marseille
Ansem 8,906
He signed an extension until 2023. He flies under the radar but he's having a solid season. A must have depth midfielder for WCQ who will be in season form when it starts. Kadenge, toontownman, johnyb and 8 others 10
Olympique_de_Marseille 3,280
Played a full match today with a trophy, the Scottish League Cup ( Betfred Cup ) on the line. EDIT: They won the match and the cup. Reminder: Spoony won the Scottish Cup with St. Johnstone in 2014 but the club had never won the League Cup before. ------ I think he will get the call for March. I have a feeling that certain players will only stick around for the first match vs Bermuda and others like Spoony might stick around longer to play match #2 vs the Caymans. toontownman 3,357
Wow. Fantastic. Does that give a European berth/qualifying spot for next year? Congrats to David.

In that third article, I find it disingenuous of Herdman that he makes it sound like he personally recruited Spoony (almost from scratch) when it is well known that Spoony spoke with Arfield first. Surely there was CSA contact (and possibly from Zambrano) first! This thread was started in March 2017 and Spoony's first match was during the international window in March 2018. Also, Herdman was announced as Head Coach in early January but didn't speak to Spoony until a month later (February 2018) according to the article! Why the wait? I'm not anti-Herdman like @Unnamed Trialist but this all seems a bit much.
Ivan 1,049
Edgar also took a lot of the credit during the broadcast. Said it was he and Arfield who convinced him. johnyb
JamboAl 1,875
No doubt that Arfield and others tapped up Spoony to play for us. And maybe JH was working the phones even before he became the CNMT manager. Does it matter? I wonder if sometimes we read too much into these things. The joke on the broadcast (and that Edgar made in the past) is that Edgar convinced Arfield to join and then Spoony reached out to his fellow Scot, Arfield, and Arfield convinced Spoony. Therefore Edgar should get the credit because he started the chain of events. Edited Friday at 09:34 PM by Olympique_de_Marseille Ivan and johnyb
