What the hell is going on at 00:35 of this video? Herdman's modern training includes practicing smiling at each other? :D

They're just having fun out there Grizz, keeping it light. Tonight is the pajama party in Herdman's room complete with frozen yogurt cones with sprinkles and a pillow fight to top it off.

I understand that's a brand new technique of psychological warfare known as "tactical amusementization". What happens is that when your team has a free kick in a dangerous area but you don't have anyone who's really good at taking them, what you do is set up your own wall of players in front of the opposition wall, facing them. Then you have the members of your own offensive wall employ a series of silly faces, accents and insulting jokes (hence why it's called an offensive wall) to try to make them laugh in order to distract the members of the defending team's wall from the fact that you are going to pass the ball around the wall in order to get a clear shot on goal. At the 35 second mark of that video you can clearly see that Ricketts is making James laugh by making a silly face and doing his best impersonation of the French taunting knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail "We don't need your wall - we've already got one! Oh yes, it's a very nice....."

The reason why you can see Edwards giggling is because as Piette went by he (understandably) did a much better French taunter impersonation where he claimed to have farted in the wall's general direction. As for Wotherspoon, with his Scottish accent I understand he does a pretty mean impersonation of Tim the Enchanter.

So Edgar recruited Arfield. Then Arfield recruited Wotherspoon. So who will Wotherspoon be recruiting??

Clearly someone who has a Canadian grandparent from WW1 or WW2 playing in the BPL, that none of us know about.

Isnt there a kid in the Rangers youth system that is of CDN heritage??  Get Wotherspoon and Arfield to start putting up pink flyers in the train stations over there.  "Have yiz nae seen your CDN gran for yonks??  Dont be a sook,  ring CSA...1800-findmen, Why not give Canada a square go?"

 Is it actually true?

He's from Toronto.  Older brother played with Fraser Aird at a young age.  Ex-Rangers coach (at some level) living in Toronto noticed him and arranged a trial.  Moved to Scotland with his family at age 11.  I think he's 17 or 18 now, playing for Rangers u20s.  Just remember that Aird was a pretty big Rangers prospect at one point too.  It's early days still for Palmer.

why wasn’t he part of the U17 team? Oh wait... they didn’t choose really any European based players. How did that turn out ?

He is doing very well for Rangers development side presently, the development side is playing many top European youth sides this year, and his name is often in the match reports as someone who stood out or set up a goal.

That’s amazing ! We have a  dozen of good young talent playing in European development teams/ academies. We wonder why players don’t play for Canada well they not are part of the Youth teams. When they don’t get called other nations pick them up.
