tc-in-bc
[ 1 ] Shannon Woeller gets the call up after a 5 year absence. She's currently playing at USV Jena in the Frauen Bundesliga -- Woeller basically replaced Canadian center back Rachel Melhaddo -- who left Jena in December 2016 ( due to her pregnancy ). http://www.ffusvjena.de/news/allianz-frauenbundesliga/item/571-shannon-woeller-nationalelf [ 2 ] Thought that the Germans were very wary of the USWNT pace ( Williams, Dunn, Pugh, Morgan, Press ) in the 2017 She Believes Cup -- they tended to sit back when the Americans got the ball. The match ended USA 1 - 0 Germany. In Germany's match with England at the She Believes Cup, England liked to keep most of their team behind the ball, defend, and then try counter out of it. And all that did was to concede too much possession to the Germans -- the match ended Germany 1 - 0 England. Germany aren't the quickest team and I think they are vunerable to an up tempo game. Wouldn't mind seeing John Herdman get as much pace on the pitch as possible, and at the right moments, take the Germans on.

tc-in-bc
[ 1 ] All the German players are currently in season playing for clubs in Germany and France. Canadian NWSL players are in pre-season, Canadian NCAA div 1 players are out of season/spring season. [ 2 ] If defenders would just put the ball wide of the post and not on target then these kind of own goals could be avoided. Still, Sheridan was quite shaky. [ 3 ] A lot of credit goes to Janine Beckie for Canada's goal. Beckie dummied the ball from Buchanan which went to Sophie Schmidt in central midfield. Beckie then curled into the right wing and received the return pass from Schmidt. And then great diagonal ball into the box by Beckie ,(which the entire German backline missed ) finding Deanne Rose at the far post for her goal. [ 4 ] Canada's play began to dramatically dip when more and more of the bench got subbed into the match.
