First talked about in February 2014 by poster @Big_M . http://www.thevoyageurs.org/forums/topic/25337-new-mother-of-all-canadians-abroad/?do=findComment&comment=479511 after a Journal de Montréal article about him in January 2014: http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2014/01/31/santino-recine-vise-loin

Just signed with middle-to-bottom of the table, Serie B side Unione Sportiva Salernitana 1919

He's a '97 an could therefore play in the upcomming U-20 CONCACAF qualifiers.

My only fear is that Team Canada may not select the 1997 boys

@Futballer is he "certified"? ;)

In the article he says his dream is to play for Italy. Maybe another player to add to the list as playing for Canada is a second choice.

About 10-15 years ago there was a Portuguese-Canadian kid in his early 20's toiling in the Portuguese 4th tier who stated in an interview that it was his dream to play for Portugal. I'm thinking if Santino Recine hasn't gotten a sniff from any Italian youth teams yet he's a long shot to suit up for the Azzurri.

If he had played in the Ontario Youth Soccer League and out played his competitors and give credit to playing in the best Canadian youth league for his development then, we could Certify him as a Canadian Baller.

The Canucks Abroad page on RNO says that he plays for US Salernitana 1919 in the Italian second tier but I can't find any other source that says that, does anyone have anything

I am in Salerno multiple times a year and have friends and family that are part of supporter groups there. I keep asking them about him and they claim he is part of their arch rival, Avellino.

He signed with Deportivo Guadalajara back in July (Spanish 4th tier) http://nuevaalcarria.com/articulos/korolev-jony-pantxi-y-santino-los-cuatro-nuevos-fichajes-del-deportivo

Thanks for the head's up, that is the team Miki Cantave played for when they were in 3rd tier.

I have not been updating Canucks in Spain as I am too busy lately, but when I get into a groove will get back into it. Must admit that having Aparicio drop a tier has disappointed me.
