I just find that the further you get away from the top 5 leagues the worse the information gets.

Agreed. The values for high profile players and leagues are usually within the realm of possibility - but that's because these values are generally ballparkable, based on publicly available media reports, contractual and club knowledge, and comparable sales. But once you start paying attention to the fluctuations - particularly the runs of momentum and the consistent overvaluing - the amateurness of the values starts to show, even at this level.

Then add in all the wacky crap - clubs in nearly amateur leagues or in leagues where paid transfers are not the norm with total player values in the low millions...players that would never command a fee (or recently went on frees!) with values in the six figures...Forge's players being worth, in sum, more than many clubs in England tier 4 and some in tier 3...even the NYT article touches on not correlating influence with accuracy.

It's a fabulous website. And the role of user-driven content in the scouting and player sales, including Transfermarkt and Football Manager, is fascinating. But basing values on "but Transfermarkt says..." is like judging public opinion based on what you saw on Family Feud.

Football fans being fickle shocker.

To be fair he went from being an inconsistent (to be kind) bench player to being their top scorer, scoring in their most important games, and not only won the league but cried on the pitch when they did

I will just leave this here with little comment.

Larin's new strike partner (just on loan)

I have been thinking that this and the Alex Teixeira move are insurance for Besiktas, and puts pressure on Larin. As his contract winds down they can sit him on the bench, now that they have reinforcements.

Was watching two things at once but he came on at half and made a big difference to the flow of the game.  Three tough chances for him right away and Besiktas had the momentum.

There were a couple things that kind of killed that. Fabrice Nsakala one of their players was taken to the hospital by ambulance but is alright it seems.  And they brought their new signings on  - Teixeira and Batshuayi - and they never got in sync, with Larin moved very wide left.

Ended 0-0 after 10 minutes of stoppage time.

Apparently back in negotiations with Besiktas over a new contract.

"Beşiktaş started contract negotiations with Larin

Breaking news... Beşiktaş Management started negotiations with Canadian star Larin for a new contract. While Larin asked for 2 million 250 thousand Euros, Black and Whites offered 1.5 million Euros plus bonuses."

Turkish press saying that Beskitas rejected 6 million Euros for him from Marseille.  Want 10 million.  Seems risky in the last year and his stance of running it out.   But maybe they really want to make a run this year in Europe?
