Why not stay another year at Besiktas and play some European football next season? He's not likely to get that opportunity at a club in England.

He has one year left on his contract in the prime of his career.  I can't see him taking the risk of playing out the final year, nor do I see Besiktas want to let him leave for free in 2022.

This is a chance for Cyle to get a life changing amount of money.

Cenk Tosun came out injured during Sunday's game. It's being reported as a patellar tendon rupture. He's already had surgery in Turkey and is returning to England for further evaluation. Based on a quick search it sounds like the recovery period could be up to six months. I wonder how this will impact the potential Larin for Tosun swap if it was ever in the works.

That was already declined by Besiktas. They said the want at least 15 million euros for Larin and no swap deal.

I'd hazard to guess that Tosun is on EPL wages and Larin is on not so EPL wages.

Something that even the biggest teams in Turkey have to really consider

I think Larin is on 1.5 million euros a season. Not sure what that is in pounds/wk...perhaps around 27k?

Not sure if this link works, but it would show Cyle with by far the most goals of any player in CONCACAF this (European) season.

I would say that of the Concacaf forwards- Leon Bailey’s season is the most impressive with Lozano’s season next with 14 goals and 11 assists for Bayer Leverkusen and 15 goals and 5 assists for Napoli respectively.

Larin right now is showing that he’s probably too good for the level of competition he’s in and is ready for a bigger league.

Hopefully those English Premier League rumours crystallize this next transfer window.

Reyna had a very solid season as an 18 year old at Borussia Dortmund too.

I’d honestly would like him to stay at Besiktas. Become a club legend there like Atiba

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, and next year he'll get to play Champions League.

I still want him to try his luck in the EPL though.

I agree. If he goes to the Prem I see it as more likely that he doesn't play in most games. That would mean one of our regular CanMNT players would not be playing regularly. It is not like he is very young and has a much higher ceiling, he likely is at or close to his peak in performance. The only reason I'd like to see this move is for my selfish Saturday morning on the couch watching TV reasons. If OneSoccer can get Besiktas streaming rights then I'd be happy with that!

So far Larin has excelled at every level he has played at, if he feels like he can play in the EPL then he probably can, he has shown to have the work ethic and character to thrive wherever he goes. We should not doubt him.

I think, taking the example of a solid striker in Turkey like Yilmaz who transitioned successfully, that Larin would probably do well in France. That would be the right kind of step up, not to EPL.

Cue hoards of Voyageurs screaming to themselves "I am NOT going to watch another Ligue 1 team, week in, week out, no way!"

While he’s certainly improved his overall game, he’s never been particularly good outside of putting the ball in the back of the net. It took Besiktas a couple seasons to figure that out. I worry another team might not have that patience

Thing is, how many players who were only good at that one thing have been scrub in the history of football?

I don't watch Besiktas enough to know whether he's good scoring or it's something else, frankly.
