all good buddy, so do I, I think we have a bit in common lol  (seriously, diagnosed with mild bipolar... you?)

Either way, you give a shit, and I like that.

Okay, as far as a flower is concerned, I asked around a bit more(parents lived there for years and somehow never thought to ask them) and they said that dafodils are harvested in huge numbers in Victoria.  And when I looked at the flower, I noticed that the top of it, from the side actually looks kinda like a crown!  I realize they are generally fairly bright yellow, but I made it slightly paler yellow and put it behind the crown and I think it's really cool.  Also did a bit more reddit research for Vic ideas and someone mentioned "Victiles" that are around the city, so I'm just cleaning it up but I think I'm going to put the FC Victoria as tiles.  It's taking me a little bit to line it up properly.

and then, Victiles

Just trying some things out with the tiles

nothing set in stone, just seeing if it is possible to incorporate them or not

8BeTs7B.png

oh and I'm gonna guess people might be iffy on the dafodil, but it does undeniably have significance in Vic, despite what people may think about it esthetically.

And before I get slayed for having too much detail, please just keep in mind that although many soccer crests are simple, there are a litany of exceptions to this rule.  If I must, I can post some examples, but I'll just start with one that's pretty classic yet detailed.

Thats the cool thing about football crests is, although there are some general rules, there really are a ton of exceptions to all of those rules.

I count 7 colours.  And few people would argue that this is a classic crest.  Just sayin

I still likely the simplicity of the badge you made for a Saskatoon club. Not sure it needs to be any more complicated. I have to say, I absolutely love the badge you made for Victoria that uses white colouring for the name. I think using gold colouring causes the name to be lost in the badge. If you look at Ottawa's badge, it's unmistakable what name the club has and what drives its branding.

This is perhaps not a popular opinion but the CPL logo you created looks like it came out of the 80s. Not sure why, but the font used screams 1980s to me. Someone made a really excellent CanPL logo in another thread I think, hopefully someone can find it and post it here. The goof that tweets as MLSRumors tried to trick people into thinking it was a legitimate logo until numerous folks, including myself, pointed out it simply came from the Vs forum.

So just finished working my way through the entire thread, and Holy Zarquon's Singing Fish these are amazing. Like, even the ones I don't like (because of my personal ideas of 'style' and the like) are really good. I especially love Regina, Quebec, and Halifax (though I admit I wish it wasn't just Halifax Football Club, but not being from there I don't have any better ideas for the name).

In terms of future designs, once you work your way through the list, might I suggest Gatineau? I know it's highly unlikely, but I remember seeing something about places with 250k or more people and, well, as of 2011 they have 265,349. It'd also be good for setting up a cross-river rivalry with the Fury. Possible symbols/nicknames could include the Draveurs (log rollers/drivers), which were pretty central to both Ottawa and Gatineau's pre-1867 settlements. They're also known for the casino's international fireworks competition, an annual balloon festival, and turning a blind eye to underage drinkers coming over from Ontario (though I'm not entirely sure how you'd put that into a logo :P). The city's logo and coat of arms are mostly green, but if you did go with some sort of log driving imagery, perhaps a seldom-used brown would be a good touch for the logo. Pine or something (apparently "the Gatineau Hills' pine forests were logged extensively in the early 1800s", or so wikipedia tells me).

Otherwise, have you considered putting your designs up somewhere like Redbubble? As far as I know, it doesn't cost you anything to put them there, anyone would be able to buy them (albeit on t-shirts and the like, rather than proper kits), and you'd get a few cents for everything that sold.

When you show it this way, I feel like Winnipeg should be a part of the West and ideally, another team in southern Ontario and two more in the East. Or keep Winnipeg in the central and have a team in Thunder Bay and/or Sudbury? I have no idea what those two cities are like when it comes to soccer, but from a geography standpoint, itd make sense. As for the East, I don't know how feasible that is, but a division with 3 teams seems kind of silly. Maybe a play on the Freddy, St.John, and Moncton rivalries or another team in Quebec? What about St. John's? Now that Montreal moved the AHL team, I don't think they have anything close to a professional team. Or Charlottetown, don't think they have anything going on there in the "CPL season"

Yea true enough.  Actually I had ottawa in the east, but I wasn't really doing it for accuracy sake as much as just showing off.

eh fair enough, the font would be an easy change.  Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you're talking about the Vic one without the tiles with the White font(that you liked)?  yea I'm not sure if they(the tiles) worked or not, but I thought the idea was cool enough to give it a shot.  I see what you're saying about being able to read Ottawa's badge, but to be fair, I could point out a TON of soccer crests that you can't read from far away(most of them really) so from that standpoint I'm not overly concerned.  Really most of the time you'll be seeing it close up if it was on TV anyways.

The tiles are mostly blue with white letters but the colors don't really go so the "final" version works better.

The daffodil doesn't look half-bad.

I'm pretty sure this is about as positive a response as I can expect :P

Thanks man!  I've put quite a bit of effort/time into them so it's always nice to hear people say nice things!  I definitely have Gatineau on my eventual to-do list!  And it appears that great minds think alike as my initial idea was something to do with pine(also saw their coat of arms)

I know there are some that are still kinds shitty(although I'm pretty happy with the ones I put on the map for the most part) but this whole thing is a work in progress(lol everyone hates KWC, I'm working on it)

The redbubble thing is a cool idea, I'd never considered that!  thanks!

Also, if you have any idea's you'd like to see tried, you know where to find me :)  I don't know if i'll redo any of these current ones, but anything that isn't on the map is still very much up in the air.

Thanks again for all the help everyone, oh, and It's officially the first day of winter by the way, there's snow on the mountains near Whitehorse! :D

Hmm.  not a bad first draft...?

vRoiCSK.png

Definitely not bad for a first draft. Simple and effective.

I had a thought last night, up to you whether you want to use it of course, but you know the sort of banner you put on them sometimes (I forget which, and none of them seem to have it anymore, so I can't point to an example at the moment)? What if you did that, but made it look like those two-man tree saws? Jagged edge and handles at the ends, I would think.

As an aside, of sorts, there is an FC Gatineau semi-pro team in the PLSQ, so it might be good to have more than just CF or FC on there. Gatineau United might actually make sense, because of the amalgamation that turned Aylmer, Buckingham, Gatineau, Hull, and Masson-Angers into just Gatineau. I'll try to think of some other options though, in case you/others don't like United (maybe Outaouais FC, something with AS like AS Nancy, or, following Montpellier's naming convention, Gatineau OSC - Outaouais Sport Club?).

I love the overall shape of the shield, with parliament at the top. Great design.

I'm not sure how you got to this point, but I might do away with the whole Celtic swirl if Campbell is no longer involved with the club. I personally never felt it held much connection to the city. I'm not exactly sure what I'd replace it with. Maybe continue on with the beauty of parliament/ inner harbour area by adding a sail boat, or boats in that space? Or showcase the Garden City in some way like you were doing before.
