Actually, religion played a huge role in why MDS was able to put together his squad. MDS is a very religious man and many of the players he recruited were also faithful believers. IIRC Martin Rennie ran a similar ship, though I never heard of a club chaplain for the Caps. His brother is a minister. Most of his favorite soldiers like Watson and Davidson and even the majority of the players they drafted in his era were quite evangelical spending off seasons together on Christian Missions and that sort of thing. Given that the current core are all mostly traditional Latinos or American College boys I don't imagine god plays any less of a role on the current squad, whether publicized or not. There is a big difference between having a lot of religious players on your squad (which I have no problem with) and running the team in a way in which religion is involved, has influence or gives certain players preference or even just the appearance of preference. I didn't like Klopas "God never sleeps" stuff either. If someone wants to be religious fine but don't bring it to the workplace. Hopefully Robinson and Biello are more professional. I'm not a fan either, but get used to it. Religion plays a huge role in world football and there is no denying that played a significant role in Fury's last two seasons. IceCreamMan
http://www.ottawafuryfc.com/news/2016/02/02/fury-bolster-2016-squad-with-pair-of-canadians Nice to see them signing Canadians but neither really excites me too much. Have to think it's a little bit of filling out the roster with cheap players.

The other I haven't seen play, but he was involved in a law suit with United. http://the11.ca/2015/07/13/canadian-midfielder-mozzi-gyorio-launches-breach-of-contract-lawsuit-against-minnesota-united-nasl/
jedinathan
From what I recall, Mozzi was pretty underwhelming back in 2011/12, which (based on the level of the NASL at the time) isn't very good news for Ottawa.

masster
This roster does not look that impressive. I wish there was somebody to ask some hard questions about what is going on there. Unfortunately the main journalist source that used to provide info on the club, now works for the organization.
