[ 1 ] The New England Mutiny are breaking  from  WPSL ( Womens Premier Soccer League  ) and are co-founding the United  Women’s Soccer  League  because of their  desire to be part of a genuine tier two women’s league with good consistent standards. In contrast, the  standards in WPSL had been  poor ; reaching a turning point in  July  2015 when their WPSL East playoff game  had to be cancelled because the Seacoast United Phantoms couldn’t field a team.

[ 2 ]   Phillipe Ciarlo  the chairman of Laval Comets is a little luke warm to the idea of a PLSQ women’s division playing inter-provincially with League One Ontario women’s division . It’s his opinion that the the caliber of play and players in League One Ontario women’s division is a little low and that Quebec college players/U-20 players would shy away from it because they would  consider it a step down and too easy. It was Ciarlo’s preference that Laval Comets play in something equivalent to the now defunct W-League – seeing  such a league  as a bridge between a youth development league like ( L1O) and the NWSL.
