FreeAgent
Ouimette and de Jong were both naive defensively to give El Salvador their chance, though their striker also looked offside. Nice chance for Johnson but he and de Guzman need to find a way to make themselves more useful going forward. Hard when every time Johnson gets the ball he turns backwards and lets ES settle back before he passes off. No awareness whatsoever.
canadianfoot
Crap we need and Have to get those 3pts. Wonder what changes Floor will do? Hopefully not in the 85min...
Keegan
De Jong got beat for the breakaway in the same way he did against Ghana for their goal. That's why he doesn't play at all anymore for SKC. Definitely our weak link on the back end.. even against Jamaica in September last year he was beat on his side more times than I could count. SCF08
Agree. I can't ever remember when 3 pts were more for the taking in WCQ on the road in Central America. Jason A draw would definitely be a loss. A win is a absolute must, especially considering Honduras lost to Mexico earlier.
Joe Keeper
Patience Lads. Good things could come if we keep up the pace of the last 5 minutes. I think we need to score first to win IMHO.
Kibby
De jong needs to be a left sided mid.. instead of back
paul-collins
Commentary wondering why Hoilett is wandering centrally, as they are saying he was more effective out wide on Friday. Suggesting he's making space for De Jong. If that is true, I'd suggest he stop it. He went wide and immediately crossed in to Larin for the woodwork... lamptern
Definitely we need more long balls in the 2nd hall. also we need Akendele to take on the right wing to set up some headers for Larin and W Johnson.
canadiantoffee
Ricketts as usual just isn't much of a footballer. Need someone who has a better touch, especially on a field like this. De Jong is caught out of position quite a bit, partially because he likes to get forward but also because he seems to lack awareness at times. Ouimett is a concern as well. I know it's in ES, but I haven't seen a team as poor as them in a long time. We should win this.
gator
The obvious 1st sub should be Akindele on for Ricketts! We need to improve all over the pitch but besides a poor 5 minutes or so we weren't in much danger and looked more likely to score!
Addona
It's not passing when the ball pings off you in a direction you didn't intend... This is exactly what I was going to say ... when the ball comes near Ricketts, it is equally likely to end up anywhere within 12 cubic yards around him. Marc
Can't believe they are holding us back as well as they are. I almost miss the dirty El SalvAdor squads of the mid 90s. More entertaining and at least it gave us an excuse for not winning
kingvikingstad
If this is still a draw at the 70th minute, we need to bring on some attacking players and go for it. For once let's play to win and move on, rather than playing to not lose like we always do.

A draw and we're still very much alive
jonovision
While I don't think that was the best first half by any stretch, I like the way the game is starting to look. El Salvador certainly did more running in that first half and may run out of gas first. I think Canada is beginning to recognize that Larin can feast on hold up play and in the box against these much smaller defenders, compared to vs Honduras where he that part of his game was shut down. Ouimette and de Jong need to sharpen up defensively and Johnson needs to wake up a bit too.

jpg75
I think we looked like the slightly better team in the first half. We need to go for it in the second, those 3 points are on the table and within reach. Really want to see what Haber can do holding the ball up and in the air in front of goal.
