So what's the deal with TLN?

Would rather it was on a channel I didn't have to pay extra for! Darn TSN and Sporsnet. Still unbelievable their lack of support, especially given the sports popularity and content thus far. I can only assume it is down to the punditry team threatening strike action and point blank refusing to follow us around and sit through our games, pulling their hair out like the rest of us.

In all seriousness these Canadian providers need to sort this out.

As has been discussed here many times in the past the CanMNT does not draw well at all on TV, even relative to the low ratings the MLS receives in Canada.

If the games stay on TLN, and Gavin gets a partner to call the game with him, ill take it!

I'm tired of hearing "Jaccckkssoonn withh a massive strike on net...... Pardon me Akindele"

Can you imagine co-commentating with Rauter, they must get so annoyed when he talks over them with an "Oh!" every time the ball is remotely close to the net.

On the subject of inappropriate commentary, Dick Howard screaming "gollllll de Canada" when we tied things up in Venezuela is a particular favourite

Actually if memory serves, when TLN was "Channel 47" they did show Canada's games for the 1986 World Cup with Italian commentary done by Paolo Canciani.

UHF 47?  CFMT?  Still on 47 - cable 4.  Rogers Omni 1.

TLN did show soccer back in the 1980s ... though not sure cable went higher than 36 back then.

Is TLN the likely provider for wcq games then? I currently don't have the channel... What are your thoughts? I'm not going through qualifying not having the games on tv.

I wouldn't bet on anything. Not sure about your provider but it took me a 5 minute phone call to sign up for TLN so I'd wait for an announcement. It seems like at the very least the CSA will produce a Gavin Day led feed and put it on TLN, if the internet is good enough where ever they're playing.
