Olympique_de_Marseille
quality squad to play considering Yup, really happy with the CSA on this one. Difficult to do two games since Floro is needed for Olympic Qualifiers. A camp and a final game makes sense. We clearly need training against a quality squad, our 2nd Belize game was very poor. This is a great choice.

Lets be honest though, that's more the curse of central america (Panama aside) than anything else, we almost drew a more or less full strength Colombia in New Jersey. Maybe we need to do what the impact did at some point and host a proper camp there and let the players feel more at home.
Big_M
The final and third place games of the olympic qualifiers are on the 13th so Floro will only be there if we get out of our group. Or if we get to the final, he might join the senior team anyway as we would already be qualified for the olympics.

There's only one Benito! That game matters just a little if we make the final - both finalists go through. If we are 3rd/4th then the game matters plenty! We have a really tough game against CONMEBOL if we win. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_CONCACAF_Men%27s_Olympic_Qualifying_Championship Who's our Olympic assistant coach? Olympique_de_Marseille
I seem to remember seeing something during the last WCQ cycle that the TV rights to a match belong to the host federation. If the BFF decided to sell the rights to beIN sports, not much CSA can do about it. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2012/08/23/Media/US-Soccer.aspx "USSF President Sunil Gulati in an e-mail said, "We don’t control the rights for our away matches" So a friendly on neutral ground. Who would have the broadcast rights for this game then?

gigi riva
I can see the game on BEIN Sport If I remember The Colombia game and the Friendlies with Iceland were shown on there. Plus they have all the rights to CONCACAF WC qualifying.

Boominbooty
I'm actually now wondering if this game is going to happen. Ghana is supposed to be playing the Ivory Coast on Oct 15 as part of the African Nations Championship in Ghana. Seems like a bit of a logistical impossibility for them to play in Washington DC two days earlier. http://ca.soccerway.com/matches/2015/10/16/africa/african-nations-championship/ghana/cote-divoire/2040669/

They aren't scheduled to play in WCQ or in African Cup of Nations qualifying: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_%28CAF%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Africa_Cup_of_Nations_qualification There are other listed fixtures that make no sense like Senegal Guinea for example. Blackdude
The African Nations' Championship team is made of the best domestic local players. According to the Ghana FA, Ghana has two domestic players on its 24 man squad that played 2 games this past week, both of them are goalkeepers. Sure Ghana could not call those 2 players and call all their Black Stars who ply their trade outside of the Gold Coast. (Thank you Mauritania friendly) The only question is if they'll call goalkeepers not from Ghana. They could call for exemple Adam Kwarsey from Portland to replace them and let them play for the ANC. I don't buy that excuse, Belize probably feels just as Caribbean as places like Guyana. They don't have that Central American culture and mentality of bags of piss, a crowd making noise outside your hotel, 24/7 media coverage etc
Obinna
^FWIW, I know a few people from Belize and they all associate themselves with Carribean culture, in their food, music, etc.
madmonte
Great match! Wish they'd do less neutral ground friendlies and more home/away friendlies. October 13th isn't that cold yet for a lot of Canada, there's no big reason for it
