Dub Narcotic
Born and raised in Port Coquitlam, BC 67 appearances and two goals with Whitecaps FC Residency in USSDA Six appearances and one goal for Canada at 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship Chung, 16, has started 58 of his 67 USSDA appearances for the U-16 Residency team over the past three seasons, including two goals from his left back position. This past season, the native of Port Coquitlam, BC started 34 of his 35 appearances with the U-16 squad. Internationally, Chung started all six matches for Canada at the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship tournament in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and scored his first international goal in a 3-1 win over Haiti. A_Gagne
So today VWFC2 signed a two 16yr olds and a 17yr old. #progress I did a quick scan of the English and German U21 teams (U20). Many (if not most) of them had had around 100 professional games (against men) before their 21st birthday. That's exactly where we need to be if we ever hope to compete internationally. I hope these kids fight for spots (are not handed them) and eventually get to that point, and I hope this a is sign of things to come. Dub Narcotic
I think they will mostly play U-18 next year with the occasional appearance for VW2. Their main competition are some of the older Canadians who were marginal this year like Haynes and Piraux.
Northvansteve
Chung was very impressive at the U-17 championships - arguably one of Canada's best 2 or 3 players. Now listed on the Whitecaps roster as a midfielder and forward!

shermanator
My vote would have gone to Adinojah Reid personally, but if Reid wasn't in a game with the U-17 team, then I guess that's why he wasn't nominated.
shermanator
Watching Kadin Chung over the last couple games, he looks mighty impressive at RB. Calm and cool in possession. Gets forward lots but not so much as to forget his defensive responsibilities. Lots of pace to allow him to track back quickly should he lose his man. If he continues to develop in the next 2-3 years we may have an actual RB for consideration with the national team. As far as I know Chung has played RB for the U-17 and U-20 teams and WFC2
Ruffian
Soon we will have depth at RB with Chung and Aird looking good and it will be our LB that is thin. De Jong is 29 and "might" already be in decline, Morgan likely will never stand out and we still do not know how Adekugbe will prove his worth. At least we have "adequate" coverage at LB for the foreseeable future in Morgan, and hope for more with Adekugbe. It's mind boggling how long we have gone without a true RB

Vince wants to take an old ski jumper at right back. I don't think that it's a good idea. Addona
