Obinna Posted June 16, 2015 Share Posted June 16, 2015 I would personally rather qualifying for the GC. If the risk was missing out on qualification every now and then, so be it. Even if we failed to qualify for 1 out of 4, think about how many more official matches we would play in. The 5th and 5th from Central america and the Caribbean always face each other in a playoff. What about having Caribbean 5 and 6 in the playoff with Canada and Central America 5, 2 of 4 qualify? Concacaf actually did something like this for the 2000 Gold Cup, ironically. with Canada, El Salvador, Cuba and Haiti. They squeezed those games in between October 6 and 10, a full round robin; pairing off and doing home and away in an international window may make more sense.
