Vancouver United likely won the 2015 PCSL title today in their last league match of the season with a 3-2 win over Kamloops Heat. (Nanaimo's Mid-Isle Mariners would have to win both of their games next weekend, including one away to Victoria Highlanders on Sunday, and overcome a 13-goal differential with Vancouver, in order to win the title.)

Two of Vancouver's three goals came from former Whitecaps USL PDL winger Gagan Dosanjh.

The 2015 PCSL Challenge Cup (post-season) will take place on July 25-26 in Vancouver. More details here.

Yeah, it was not fun. We spent hundreds of dollars to folow the team over for the weekend and this asshat comes along and shows why the PCSL is perhaps the worst thing to happen to soccer in BC.

No but it's a start. In it's second years of existence it has grown and even after one year some of it's players have gone to start professional careers. Level should increase and so does public interest, but as far as I can tell, it's already miles further than the PCSL.

With people like that running our leagues, I now know why we suck.

And to be fair, I am sure Collard thinks he is providing an excellent place for players to play. I believe he genuinely thinks that players want to play in almost total silence to avoid distraction. His vision of a perfect game is probably one where no one has to speak, blow a whistle or hear anything but the sound of boot to ball.

Of course we know differently.

Where’s the BC Semi-Pro League?

Maple Leaf Forever!

The success of League1 Ontario and the Première ligue de soccer du Québec has again raised interest in a provincial, semi-professional soccer league for British Columbia. Some knowledgeable observers have considered a BC league almost more of a “when” than an “if”, yet we’ve hardly moved an inch towards that goal in the past ten years. This league’s inability to just get off the ground has become a very old story.
