pint
That's confirmation. If I read that right paper work went to Scotland FA, I imagine that would be the 1 time switch paperwork. Now canadian government needs to hurry the hell up with his passport.
DigzTFC
My god this is a cultural shift in Canadian Soccer. Does anyone have statistics on players joining the CMNT per year? We must be setting records! Bring on Opare, Koffie and Ferriera!
gator
After watching last night's match it was apparent to me we have to have Atiba, Hoilett and Arfield in the lineup to have any chance of a result with Mexico! king1010, Califax and canucklefan

johnyb
Man I don't want to "Hex" it, but I'm that sounds about as confirmed as you can get without actually stepping on the pitch.
Keegan
Exciting stuff. He's now cap-tied to us without even stepping on the pitch. Pray that Atiba, Arfield and Hoilett are healthy in March. ----------------Larin-------------- Hoilett---------------------Arfield -------------Johnson------------- ---De Guzman---Hutchinson--- De Jong--Jakovic-Vitoria--Edgar --------------Borjan------------- Bully, Shway and king1010

Joe MacCarthy
Couple of interesting things from the above article “It’s something I’m dying to do,” he said. “It’s one I was going to do in the summer but things changed, then we were going to do it soon but my partner is pregnant now so she can’t fly. “We’re definitely going to go over and see Canada to its full extent, but it’s on hold for now. They play home games in Vancouver. I’ve been told it’s beautiful. The latter comment is amusing, the former is more concerning.

He can fly to Vancouver or Mexico to play for Canada, without bringing his pregnant wife :-).

Alex
Since February 2015 we have added: tesho akindele, Fraser aird, wandrille lefevre, Junior hoilett, Steven Vitoria, cavallini came back, bustos came back, Larin gets 17 goals in mls, and people thought Will Johnson was never playing for us again. Oh right and I forgot Scott Arfield. BEST MIDFIELD IN CONCACAF ?!?!!!?!!? de Guzman arfield- Johnson- Hutchinson- hoilett midfield subs: tesho, ricketts, Jackson, petrasso, Piette, Teibert The addition of Arfield will be a solution to the problem that devos (justifiably) keeps pointing out that we have no real goal scoring threats in the midfield like the USA does with Bradley for example. Mexico, the US and Costa Rica all have better midfields easily. Alex and Soccerpro
Alex
Part of me was thinking back to 2007 with the "best midfield in concacaf" quote. It was good then and I unfortunately remember how that went. Yes Mexicos is better but compare this roster to the Jamaica friendly in September 2014. Gets me all giddy! Joe MacCarthy
If there was a conflict I think it might have been mentioned but to leave a newborn or a late stage pregnant mom is a bit much to ask. Fussball_eh

baulderdash77
It's not the best midfield in CONCACAF but it's certainly credible and should get us to the Hex. Our 3 CM's are good enough to shut down the middle and provide some service through the middle. Arfield and Hoilett are good enough and disruptive enough to bring some fear down the sides. Hopefully, but if Larin is on an island all game because Floro doesn't want Arfield and Hoilett to push too high up against Mexico, then having this talented a midfield won't mean much since we aren't creating anything. Shway
In watching the past few games of Scotty playing for Burnley, I noticed he's deployed as a RM or LM, but he cuts into the middle before the offensive third and holds and distributes the ball nicely. With that style of play, I think he would be best suited playing in the middle for us. I love everything about De Guzman, but I think with the addition of Arfield, signifies his time in the middle field should be cut short. I know Floro wouldn't deploy this format, but I believe if we truly are going to try to get 3pts from these games, this would be the best way to utilize our talent for a win at home. Press them hard, and then bunker to our 5-5-0 formation. For the game in Vancouver: ------------------------------Larin---------------------------------Hoilett----------------------------------------------------Akindele -------------------------------Arfield---------------------------------------------Hutchinson---------------Johnson----------------- De Jong------------Edgar---------Vitoria-----------Ledgerwood -------------------------------Borjan------------------------------- For the game in Mexico: --------------------------------Larin--------------------------------- Hoilett---------De Guzman---------Johnson---------------Arfield ------------------------------Hutchinson--------------------------- De Jong------------Edgar---------Jackovic-----------Ledgerwood -------------------------------Borjan----------------------------------- Edited February 6, 2016 by Jahinho Guerro
