canucklefan
My take on the first half: As expected, Canada stronger side is the left with Adekugbe and Petrasso. Our weakest spot is the backline; the defenders missed a lot of passes and the positioning wasn’t always good. Also, it seems we are playing a 4-1-4-1 formation, Gagnon-Laparé is the only DMF. I don’t mind it against Haiti as they seem a weak opposition, but against a strong squad I’d prefer to see another midfielder doing the same job Gagnon-Laparé does. In other words, a 4-2-3-1 formation. I believe in a formation comprised of 2 holding midfielders since I find the most successful European clubs from La Liga and the EPL are using 2 holding midfielders. Aird25
Promising half but... JGL terrible in possession. Adekugbe scared with the ball at his feet. Carducci- ugly ugly mistake. Petrasso incredulous with CONCACAF officiating. I hope it this is a learning experience for all...
shermanator
Should be up 3-0 if not for Petrasso's miss and Carducci's blunder on the free kick. I agree that swapping in Boakai for Nanco would be a good call, he wouldn't be afraid to run right at the Haitian backline.
gator
It looked like we were going to cruise to a nice easy victory and we still might but that GK error has let Haiti back in to the match! They have some big physical lads in the back that seem to be intimidating us at times, I wonder if the heat is playing a factor here as well? Unnamed Trialist
Half-time dub is great, just put that on all 2nd half and forget the game commentary!!
An Observer
We look very disjointed. I think a combination of nerves and the unconventional tactics of Haiti. Jdl is having a shocker. Very slow and caught in possession a bunch of times. We also seem to be rushing everything. In like the quick through ball but I think the nerves are getting to them and they are forcing things. Need someone to take control in the midfield and slow things down at times. Petrasso seems the real deal. Nanco doesn't. Agreed that we should bring on bokai or aparcio for him
Barthez-Battalion
Seems like Canada has the team with more skill. Does anybody know if any of these Haiti players are playing in a professional environment? There are two who are in a Bordeaux and PSG academy. There are also another two in a NE and a NYRB academy. Soccerpro
JGL subbed out for Manny at half. Right call by Gale. Now about Handsome Bowtie...
canucklefan
There has been a lot of space between the midfield and and the defense. That's my biggest concern so far. It can cost us the win tonight and it will be certainly be a loss against Mexico.

Yep just based on how fast and potent they were against Cuba Mexico will certainly punish Canada if they are to lax at the back.
Unnamed Trialist
For my money Nanco went in rash there on the keeper. We are being excessively direct when we are up a goal, play a bit and work it guys, when we do we dominate and get to the area more effectively. More I watch him more I think he is very immature, this is not NCAA.
maccaliam
I wonder if we are used to being a reactive side, and thus are struggling to know how to take the game to the Haitians.

Unnamed Trialist
How can a Canadian player try to rush a Haitian on the ground injured to get up and play? We are up 3-1. The pure lack of game sense is shocking.
