Levi Oakey
How did no one from NASL end up on this roster? No Tesho? No Finlay? All in all pretty fun though. Also think we could have called up some of the MLS prospects to put them in the shop window (Murrell, Paunic, Chapman).
hodgkiss
Looks like a fringe player camp? vets vs younger talent? With TFC's thin group of defenders, you'd think they might be talking with Straith and Attakora. Mid 20's, a few years of decent professional experience... I would think at worst they would be depth players.
Barthez-Battalion
No Bekker is interesting. Kind of hoped to see Anthony Jackson-Hamel and Charlie Trafford. Also I would have rather had Piette stay with Deportivo. He was getting regular time and I hope this won't hurt his standing with the club. Also Where is John Smits? You call in a college keeper instead of Smits? Wow.

xcalibre
Good sign when 3 of the first 5 are either in an academy or unattached. Did get a bit better from then on admittedly
tarnado1555362291
a little info on Jonathan Grant from august 2014 SIGMA FC's Johnny Grant heads to KRC Genk for extended training Period SIGMA FC defender Johnny Grant Currently on an extended training period with Belgian soccer powerhouse KRC Genk. Grant, 20, plays right back for Sigma FC League1 Ontario. While in Belgium, Grant will train with Genk's First Team and Reserves. "Johnny HAS an excellent mentality and work ethic on the pitch and HAS Remained focused on Personally-improving his game on a consistent basis, as" said Smyrniotis. "His time in Belgium will only Enhance his current level and we look forward to him having the success thatwill lead to a permanent move on the continent" Genk HAS monitored Grant's progress over the Past year, part of a partnership between SIGMA and the European That club HAS resulted in other training opportunities for SIGMA players in the Past year. The Pickering, Ont. native HAS BEEN training in the SIGMA system since he was 15. According to SIGMA Technical Director Bobby Smyrniotis, Grant is a good example of how Canadian trained players can keep-improving and developing in the late teens. Smyrniotis says Grant's biggest asset is the ability to be a threat going forward. "From a positioning aspect he is everything you would because as a coach as a right back. Yohan
yay camp poutine roster i know this is the jan camp but wow. this roster is thin.
shermanator
I'm the first to say John Smits is not roster worthy when we have a full squad, but should be at this camp. It's a joke that the NASL Golden Glove winner is not there ahead of a guy that has been nowhere near the roster of the national teams at any point in time. Other than that, my only other thought is wondering where Bekker is. Is he injured?

Blackdude
And that's why Marc dos Santos was talking about re: Not being FC Mother Teresa. I'm not saying that I agree with him, but if NASL teams can't get a player in Camp Poutine, how could they get one in a real camp?
Lord Bob
We need to prepare for the Olympics which is why Mauro Eustaquio isn't there and Issey Nakajima-Farran is. DUH.

David C.
Separating the vets from the U-23's, I get the following training line-ups: Vets: Stamatopoulos Attakarora - Straith - Jakovic - Morgan Bernier - deGuzman Porter - deRosario - Issey NF Hume U-23's (extras: Melvin, K. Black): Quillan R. Grant - M. James - Ouimette - Tissot Stanese - Piette Mannella - Osorio - Teibert Clarke
Barthez-Battalion
This team looks more and more ghetto every time I look at it. Not a fan of it. Floro is overlooking NASL and is still relying on too many old guys.

David C.
Thanks for the clarification (on Mannella) Barthez-Battalion. I've never heard of the four newbies until today, so just tried to plug them in as best I could (for general reference).
Addona
Yeah, this roster is pretty depressing ... for so many reasons. In addition to other things, no Tesho, Finlay, Cavallini. Also, no Lars, which is interesting. Trying to stay positive (even though it's tough): at least Hume and Jakovic are there. And Osorio and Teibert will provide some much needed energy. Barthez-Battalion
Honestly while I love Floro tactics, his selections are pretty bad sometimes. Why is De Ro and Bernier and Julian still getting called up? They don't add anything that they haven't already. Bernier was terrible against Panama. Where's Charlie Trafford? You can't tell me college players and academy players are better than a full professional who won his team's player of the year award. Where's Edwards and Smits? Ridiculous. This team is really head-scratching.
