TFC07
He got his citizenship now, but he's too late to play for Canada's U-20 qualifying games. However, CSA will be hosting national camp in 2015 where Sameer will get his chance to showcase his skills. Anyway, what a great story which makes you appreciate this beautiful country little bit more. As for fence sitter and back stabbers, I hope they watch that clip. Cheeta
Nice warm & fuzzy. Not to be cynical but recall Ass-smear doing something similar not so long ago We'll see what this lad has soon enough. Can't help but wish the best for him. lazlo_80
Wish the guy all the best. Any idea who he trailed with in the bundesliga?
shermanator
As for fence sitter and back stabbers, I hope they watch that clip. IMO, everyone needs to stop giving the fence sitters any shred of attention. Don't want to play for Canada? Fine, we don't care about you. I already have more respect for Sameer than any of said fence sitters because he wants to represent the country that gave him a free life.
zeelaw
I was actually at one of the locations where they shot this and talked to Sameer for a bit. He was a nice humble kid and really well-spoken too. I remember him telling me where he trialed but I forgot to write it down.
rob.notenboom
Just watched this. If this kid goes on to do well and play for Canada, he's set himself up to be quite the hero.
