Keegan
http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/scotiabank-becomes-concacafs-first-partner/ Scotia will take over as the title sponsor for pretty much everything CONCACAF. This can't be bad for us.
gigi riva
Scotia sponsoring will probably be okay. We still get screwed when playing the likes of the U.S. Honduras, etc It just will not be that noticeable. Sorry to be negative.
Blackdude
The CSA is with BMO. I don't get why it would help us.
king1010
Maybe Scotia will demand 2 Canadian spots as part of the deal (probably not though) Scotia wants to expand their Mexican and Central American storefront location so this makes sense for them. Maybe when the BMO CSA contract is up it creates a bidding war to renew? Especially if we make the hex or world cup. Could be a good thing. DontPanic
Scotiabank already dominates the banking scene in the Caribbean. I would suggest this has a bigger impact/more to gain for Scotiabank with the rest of CONCACAF exposure than in Canada.

Keegan
The CSA is with BMO. I don't get why it would help us. 2 of the biggest banks in Canada have a major stake in regional soccer. Not a reach to think that will help us. Scotia has put millions into this partnership.. clearly they would prefer Canada to be represented in tournaments with their name on it because then the partnership has more $ value to them. Simple business really.
-Hammer-
Yeah, I see this as Scotiabank trying to expand it's international presence, less so it's Canadian presence. I mean, they already sponsor various CFL teams, the Saddledome, they sponsored the Canadian Tire Centre for a while. It's likely cementing their Caribbean presence and trying to make inroads into the US and Mexico.
Sport Shaman
And that is the correct response. Clearly, most Canadians are well aware of Scotiabank and they have spent some money getting their name in front of Canadian sports fans through hockey and the CFL. This seems designed to get their name in front of sports fans (soccer fans) in the Central American and Caribbean countries. http://www.scotiabank.com/gd/en/0,,5140,00.html

This seems designed to get their name in front of sports fans (soccer fans) in the Central American and Caribbean countries. http://www.scotiabank.com/gd/en/0,,5140,00.html Actually Scotia is downsizing in Mexico and the Carribean after posting losses in the region. Scotia will also close or downsize about 120 international branches, primarily in Mexico and the Caribbean, to reduce overlap following acquisitions and focus on high-growth areas. http://business.financialpost.com/2014/11/04/scotiabank-slashes-1500-jobs-close-branches-amid-451-million-charge-for-venezuela-caribbean/ They're restructuring and focusing on growing operations in South America, namely Chile and Colombia. The agreement by the Canadian bank to acquire a 51% interest in the financial services business of Chile’s Cencosud SA adds to both Scotia’s credit card business and international footprint, CIBC analyst Rob Sedran told clients Monday. Mr. Sedran pointed out that the Canadian bank has already partnered with Cencosud in Latin America through a similar arrangement with Scotia’s Banco Colpatria in Colombia http://business.financialpost.com/2014/06/23/bank-of-nova-scotia-ticks-two-boxes-in-growth-strategy-with-latest-acquisition/ Maybe they got the Copa Libertadores and Concacaf Champions League confused lol. But this sponsership is probably part of their restructing to downsize and stop the bleeding in the Caribean and Mexico.
