Rules (taken from Lord_Bob's last year)

The deadline for submissions is 12:01 AM (EST) January 1st, New Years Day 2015.

Submissions for IPoY must have a first place, second place, and third place selection. This differs a bit from last year's format but I wanted to try it as I saw a lot of variance in people's choices last year for first, will give a more accurate outcome this way.

A point system is used to calculate a players points total at the completion of polling. A player will receive 5 points for a 1st place selection, 3 points for a 2nd place selection, and 1 point for a third place selection.

The player with the highest final aggregate total will be declared the Voyageurs International Player of the Year.

Only one submission per IP address. Additional submissions from the same IP address allowed entirely at the Administrators discretion.

For a player to be eligible for the Voyageurs International Player of the Year the player must have been selected for international duty at the senior level in 2014 and be eligible to play for Canada, in accordance with FIFA laws & statutes, as of December 1st, 2014.

Let other Vs selections influence yours as you see fit. IDEAS!

1. Atiba Hutchinson - High level club play plus consistently excellent play for the MNT

2. Doneil Henry - Breakthrough high level club play.  For the MNT he played RB out of position for us when nobody else could.

3. Tosaint Ricketts - High level club play including a bunch of goals in Turkish super league.  He also was the high scorer for the MNT

Ricketts was never in the Super Lig. Bucaspor was in the second division when he played for them.

By the way who the heck won this last year?

Just updated the wikipedia page to reflect the results.  Will Johnson came first, followed by Atiba and Osorio.  Gonna hold off on my vote to see how Petrasso finishes the year.

Edit: Looks like Petrasso isn't eligible

1. Atiba Hutchinson

2. Tosaint Ricketts

3. David Edgar

I can't think of any reasons why except that they all play first team football and have been 3 of our key players... and each scored a goal, 2 for Tos.

I wish I saw more of Hainault or Jakovic for their clubs they seem to be the only two that could challenge one of those spots.

1. Borjan: Great saves in every game.  Without him we would not have gotten the results we did.

2. Nakajima-Farran: Reliable creative outlet.  Won a starting 11 spot.

3. Hutchinson: Scored from the spot against Bulgaria.  Influential against Moldova and Jamaica.

Honourable Mentions: Ricketts, Edgar, deGuzman, Edwini-Bonsu

Goal of the Year: Edgar, vs. Jamaica

1. Borjan (see posts above)

2. Hutchison (see posts above)

3. Oumiette (got minutes in against Jamaica and Colombia and then played 90 mins against Panama and didn't look out of place)

**Although I don't think Ouimette yet deserves this award, I can see him here next year with potential to receive it

I also think Osorio had an off year and nobody else really stood out to me as deserving. Many players have played well but I believe Borjan takes the cake followed closely by Hutch.

Hutchinson - Still the best we have, playing at the highest level and always answers the call. Pure class.
Edgar - Made significant improvements. Always answered the call. Plays club football week-in, week-out

Borjan - Played great for the MNT at each opportunity this year. Answered the calls. A bit shoddy club resume this year despite CL appearance.

With that said, I'd be happy with any combination of these three.
